WAKE UP INDIA, THE MOST SELFISH PEOPLE OF MY BELOVED COUNTRY
by vaibhav kumar on Mar 23, 2009 07:16 PM  | Hide replies

I will continue with my previous and unexpectedly truncated mail.

I personally feel that with the IPL saga, we as a nation, failed in our understanding about our priorities. Its not about sitting in the drawing room and watching IPL matches, wherever they are;

Its about show the integrity, solidarity and integrity as a nation and concede that we are no safe, and we should not indulge into activities (like having IPL and elections togather), where the probailitiy of attacks and hence civilains casualities are all time high, due to sharing of paramilitary forces.

Make no mistakes, we as a nation, have not matured depsite whatever, I, you or we say, and we remain as disintegrated sections of society and its easier for militants to strike to high profile events and take lives of people.

Let us take this pride in rejecting the IPL and its CORPORATE beneficiaries, sacrifice our comfort level and entertainement quotient, and do not neglect the fact that we are not that safe as we proudly and wrongly proud to be.

Let us save life of those who may get killed if our forces are diverted to preserve the interest of CORPORATES (remember it is not national team, they are corporate teams, and except for entertainment value they do not offer anything).

Our comfort, entertainment can take a back seat, its time to show that we WALK the TALK as a nation, and don;t belive in shying away from the reality. Its not about LALIT MODI versus CHIDAMBaram, its about priority of nation.

YES. "CORPORATE" entities should NOT benefit in India. We should PUSH DOWN the businesses in India until they close down. Reduce economic growth rate back to 2% and keep the people poor. And then, we should help the poor.

If there are no poor people, who can we help? Yes... So keep India POOR!! Down with the CORPORATES!

what chidambaram cong and ndtv has equited India with Pakistan already Australian are questioning about security during commonwealth games. because of this govt fiasco India's credibility has hit low. Chidambarm Cong govt will stop 15000 marriages in Delhi on voting day as they will be unable to provide security.
Chidambaram never thought before opening his mouth to take stock of impact . Was govt sleeping as they were not aware of IPL dates which every Indian was aware

IPL should pay for security
by alexander on Mar 23, 2009 07:06 PM  | Hide replies

IPL should pay for the security of it's matches. The teams don't represent any country and the goal is pure business. Why should the government waste its public money to help the already rich owners make more money? This should be the norm for all the private events.

Okay but then dont go running to the government complaining that IPL matches stadium tickets have become too expensive. And anyway IPL was not given even the permission to hold matches, security is a far issue.

I don't go running to the govt about the ticket prices. It's IPL's business to decide on the ticket prices and no one is forcing anyone to buy the tickets. I was just making a point that why should the govt waste public money on private events like IPL. It's not just about IPL and it's not just about this year.

Chidambaram
by naveen on Mar 23, 2009 06:53 PM  | Hide replies

I remember quite distinctly that when NDA was in power, Chidambaram was not even asked to be on popular news channels. He is so full of it now that you should watch him talk to the media with a pinch of arrogance. He is surrounded by Psycophants and he seriously considers himself a contender for the Prime minister after elections. Well, all we hear from him are excuses excuses and excuses. Excellent excuses at that. Economy is in shambles because the world is in same shambles. IPL cannot be organised because elections are more important. Well, Mr Minister, we did not say that IPL was more important than the elections. We just want both of them organised at the same time. If you say that its not possible, please resign. the Minister of home affairs considers himself so clever that he asked for the first time in history of India, written guarantees from states for security. that would have been enough for IPL's end but it survived. Then the congress had to ultimately order the Maharashtra CM, a young novice, to go back on his word and demand postponement of IPL. This all is so pathetic. Are all politicians like this or is it jusr P C Chidambaram??

Chidambaram, is a minister of immense substance, and has proven his worth for the nation. Just by your analysis to justify an IPL to benefit certain corporate people, and ofcourse to satisfy your entertainment quotient, the priority of a nation and security of the people can not be compromized.

We are a fractured nation as others are. Just having a false belief that we are safest, is just betraying ourselves to the reality.

Its not the time to find fault with individuals, its the time to see what is important and pertinent for the nation. and ofcourse IPL could make people sitting in the drawing room happy, but not those, who may get killed on any given day, due to sharing of security forces and diversion of attention.

Chidambaram will be so ignored if congress is rooted out of power, that it will make his head spin. I dont think we are the safest. I know more than you what is important and pertinent for the nation.
All I want to know is why has IPL become a competetor of the general elections. Its not as if International matches have not occured while elections were going on. All I want to know is WHAT WAS THE REAL REASON for hammering the IPL management so much by the Congress Chief Minister?? What made the Chief Minister of Maharashtra go back on his word and refuse security to IPL. He agreed and then he refused. Why did Chidambaram ask for written guarantees from states. Was the home minister or the chief ministers blackmailing IPL into giving some financial benefits. Was that super-psycophant gehlot responsible for going to Sonia and begging her to get him some matches and hence the blackmailing? Does the Home minister think that just because he can control the TV media, he can hold the truth. I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH. BECAUSE I SURE DO NOT FEEL TRUTH IN THE THEORY THAT IPL WAS NOT HELD BECUASE OF GENERAL ELECTIONS.

Agter 60 years of independence where we are now.Congress party since 1947 has been appeasing muzlims thus allienating otherwise peace loving hin*doos. This appeasment has created wide friction between two.Laxity in security planning since long and keeping terrorists alive has made us a soft country prone to simple attacks like Mumbai. Our scientist have done wonderful job in certain fields but govt after govt has ignored high tech development in defence industry. We kept a distance with Israel for long due to this appeasment policy and ignored our high tech defence system.

ALL THOSE WHO THINK THE CONGRESS CHIEF MINISTERS AND CHIDAMBARAM DID RIGHT VOTE FOR CONGRESS THIS ELECTIONS. ALL INTELLIGENT INDIANS AND CRICKET LOVERS SHOULD AVOID CONGRESS LIKE A PLAGUE. A PARTY WHO PUTS PETTY POLITICS ABOVE IPL SHOULD NOT BE VOTED FOR.

Hi Guys,

It is war between Pawar and Congress.....let us enjoy IPL on television.

Since players have only slot available to IPL during APril/May. Hence it is better to conduct it abroad.

Btw, Chidambaram shd understand his government gained 91 crores through IPL last year. Free money.....
