Look what ever the poiltiicians are doing they are to be selected finally. so the election has to be there. now IPL which is another money making event at the cost of common public directly (through tkt and tv channel cost) and then indirect (advertisement) why it shhould be given so much of importance? now recently what happened in Pakistan would have prompted the Govt. If something of that sort happens here that will be the end of all international sports here. no other country will ever dare to come here. so that means the death of IPL, now atleast it can hope to continue next year. Afterall why are we crying for the IPL. When the ICL matches were not allowed ni major grounds why we were not having any problem? the basic reason is that we go by the money and fame involved.... so it is a nice decision by the Govt.

While your reasons look to be valid, the real motive behind governments reason for stopping this IPL edition is not due to security. It just does not want people to get distracted from the elections. Also, you know about the rift between govt / Modi / Pawar ...all these are the factors for govt to take such an action and they just used the "election security" reason to stop this.

IPL is led by Sharad Pawar of NCP who is an ally of the Congress government. So the evil Congress will do anything to keep Sharad Pawar in good humour and keep black money flowing into his already overstuffed Swiss bank account. This fiasco only proves how inept the Congress is in handling the matters of the country. Vote out the Congress if you want India to suvive. Such a huge country, and the governemtn pleads that it cannot provide security to the IPL during elections!!!! Why do the useless corrupt Central Government ministers need security? These security men should be tasked with providing security to the IPL. We do not want the corrupt and inept Congressis to waste taxpayers money on their own security.

Lalit Modi is a scion of the Modi group of industries. He is as much a BJP man because he hobnobbed with Vasundhara Raje as she was from the royalty, as the Ramalinga Raju is Congressi because he hobnobbed with YSR. Please do not get swayed by partisan news reported by media owing allegiance to the Congress/NCP axis

He never did that- the useless Congress government of rajasthan refused to provide security to the matches citing the polls, to cover up their own ineptitutde. Please know the facts. Even now it is not late. Why cannot the Government provide security to the IPL? What security infrastructure did it develop for the last 5 years?

You are a mindless BJP basher who would love to see this beautiful country destroyed by the Congress. probably you are sadistic too. And you, of course, do not have the courtesy to turn off your caps lock!!! Did the BJP come and whisper in your ears that they were expecting payments from Modi? Why do you spread canards and false info?

What BJP has done in last five years? Do they any time fight for the common people’s favour? In IPL, cricketers are only benefited and it will destroy the national feeling in the game, rather it will boost the regional feeling of the games. Could you please let me know why BJP deserve for vote?? A govt. will be very tight if the opponent is very strong. But unfortunately our opponent is unpolarised, and govt is taking that advantage. My argument is if I am not satisfied by present govt., still, why I will vote for BJP? They haven’t shown any attributes to works for the common peoples, during last five years. Who told, they will not worsen the condition?

Country saw immense growth in infrastructure and telecommunication for the first time after independence in NDA rule. Today even an autorikshaw guy or a poor farmer has a cell phone, the credit goes to BJP.

Why cannot the UPA just arm twist the BCCI to postpone the IPL to after the election? Is it too hard to do with Sharad Pawar as the head of BCCI.

By sending IPL abroad India is sending a message that we are incapable of handling a tournament like IPL ourselves.

Sudhir, so what shall we do to the schedule we already have following IPL? should we push everything subsequently including the international teams schedule? For that Modi should be the ICC president. Unfortunately he can only control Indian cricket :) You should question the government why the heck they cant provide security? Even a kid would understand that they just dont want public to get distracted from elections and stay tuned to IPL
