IPL

Govt. of India's unwillingness to take secutiy responsibility for IPL matches which coincide with election is not rflective any weakness on their part ; this is a realistic decision. Come on ; let us not deny that we are vulnerable to terrorist attack.

Wake up call for the not -so dumb!
by res prabhu on Mar 23, 2009 08:49 AM

It very badly understood by the people of this country. No matter whichever government is in power, the important thing for the government would be to provide more security in conducting elections than to provide security for a Private organization like the IPl.

Lalit Modi should be condemned by the government on his statements. Does he think that IPL would make a considerable change to the country?

It is the people who need to wake up and start protesting against these evil corporates who would are large enough to swallow the whole country for their progression.

Wake up!

I was getting scared when Lalit Modi was acting like a little school kid who got his choclate snatched.People please understand what would have happened if some terr0ri$t from India like the ones breeding in kerala or Indian Mujahideen or Simi had bombed one of the places due to low security in wake of elections.

I support the gov and Bcci for understanding the situation and saving precious human lives.Remember we can only die once.

Mr. Mukherjee, since morning you are making hue and cry, I can't comprehend the significance of IPL in national prospective? Could you please let me know? I feel it is transforming an exciting game to money making machine.

Cong's votebank politics is now affecting Indian capitalism, ind
by Tathagata Mukherjee on Mar 23, 2009 08:47 AM  | Hide replies

Cong's votebank politics is now affecting Indian capitalism, industry, development

many state govts agreed to host IPL mateches. So, saying election was a issue is not correct.

Cong opposed IPL because:

1) It knows internal security situation is extremely bad- jihadis can attack time- thanks to its votebank politics.

2) should such thing happens, there will be huge backlash against congress in vote.

SO, CONG CHOSE TO OPPOSE IPL. BUT IN THE PROCESS IT HAS SENT A SIGNAL OF WEAK INDIAN STATE LIKE BANANA REPUBLIC.

Cong has proved india's economic progress is at risk at the hands of its own votebank politics.

WE NEED LEADERS LIKE L.K. ADVANI WHO CAN PROTECT INDIAN CAPITALISM. NOT PSSUY CATS LIKE CONGRESS

Our so called secular parties are branding jihadi terrorists as secularists. The CPM is now saying that the Jihadi Mulla terrorist Madani, is a secular leader. How can Madani a role model for Jihadis become overnight a secularists and is the country safe in the hands of our secular Italian politicians. Anyway, the change of venue of IPL is a slap on the Congress, Mulayam, Lalu kind of secularists.

by Shri Ram on Mar 23, 2009 08:41 AM  | Hide replies

I honour people's opinion about T20 but its not about cricket, its about India's image which is projecting itself as future super power and so weak that it can;t handle two major events. Happiest people in the world will be Pakistanis as they don't have to work overnight to plan attacks in India. One attack in Pakistan is enough to bring India to its knees. Shame on Cong.

After 26/11 attacks on Munbai & the warning given to Sri Lankan cricketers who were touring Pakistan, there is a clear signal that Jihadis will do some major operations in select Indian cities, thanks to the corrupt politicians , bureacrats & Poice force.

So why is IPL so important? it is not even cricket.
