You are right....

Sachin's 88 was at crucial time....

His 49 in the 4th innings in the last match was also in crucial time

Call Symmonds
by Vrushal Khandke on Oct 21, 2008 02:55 PM

Well done TEAM INDIA. We must duly thank Team Australia for their on & off field behaviour when we last toured Australia. I feel this TEAM INDIA has been built largely due to the Aussies behaviour down under. We must also thank Shri Sharad Pawar & BCCI & not to forget the Indian fans who stood behind the team in those hours of crisis.
I would sincerely request the Australian Board to send Symmonds & other sledging experts for the remaining two tests so that the Aussies dont get an excuse of saying that they came with a sub standard team.
Well done Dhoni & team but we must get Anil Kumble back in the side to lead us for the remaining tests. Mr. Kumble Ferozshah Kotla is your lucky ground where you got a perfect 10. Try & repeat thoses heroics by getting the Aussies under 100 runs this time.

Proud & Die Hard Indian

Man of the Match
by manju nath on Oct 21, 2008 02:53 PM  | Hide replies

I dont know who declare the man of the match to Dhoni.Gambhir is the perfect man to get man of the match, because in both innings he hit half century and century.this is not easy to play with new ball.As usual in second innings every one can play well when team in good position like 200/1 .Only dhoni did his job..But peoples hailing dhoni is great player..Peoples forget the past performance from seniors .they won the matches for india in many occassions..Give some respect to senior particularly sachin ,dravid and ganguly

Zaheer Khan..........
by Anurag Rathore on Oct 21, 2008 02:52 PM  | Hide replies

Zaheer Khan, India's fast bowler, has been charged by the ICC match referee Chris Broad for his send-off of Matthew Hayden during Australia's second innings on Monday. Zaheer, who started the final day with three quick wickets, will answer a Level 2 offence for conduct contrary to the spirit of the game.

The penalty for such an offence, according to ICC's code of conduct, can be a fine equal to 50% to 100% of the player's match fee or a one-Test or two-ODI ban.

BCCI should compensate whatever % match fee is taken away

These white people make sure that they do their best to spoil joy experienced from victory. Having followed cricket for so many years, I have no doubt in my mind that such moves are movtivated by racism. There is unequal treatment justified by the use of complicated code of conduct jargon.

Single most reason is he chose not to contest for Captaincy in post ganguly arena.

For such a great player, it would be greater service to nation to take up challnge, make ammendment to personal style & lead country for victory.

It never happened ... Sad

it would sure be a nice gesture. but i guess that would not be the case. however, in the last test he should be given a chance to lead the team members on to the ground and off the ground on a grand note. what say friends.
hey but please dont attribute any regionalistic criticism here friends. i am from hyderabad city and i respect the seniors and complement the fresh breed alike. a healthy debate is expected.

Kumble
by Special Correspondent on Oct 21, 2008 02:50 PM  | Hide replies

This entire year Kumble has bowled at a high runs/wicket average of close to 50. Forget about his captaincy, as a player, he is out of form since quite some time. Now that Amit Mishra has done a good job, there a case for keeping Kumble out of the playing 11. But the rule of the game is that the regular captain, when fit, decides the playing 11.

What I really am trying to highlight is that despite this being the Kotla (known to take turn early), Kumble is perhaps so out of form this entire year that he should not be in the playing 11. Perhaps, even Laxman should be picked ahead of him.
