DEBATE ON MAN OF THE MATCH
by aur kaun on Oct 21, 2008 02:48 PM  | Hide replies

THEIR IS LOT OF DISCUSSIONS ON WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN MOM IN PLACE OF DHONI.

IF SOME ONE ELSE WAS TO BE CHOSEN AS MOM IN PLACE OF DHONI , IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN
ANIL KUMBLE - FOR NOT LEADING THE SIDE.

Border-Gavaskar trophy
by manju nath on Oct 21, 2008 02:44 PM  | Hide replies

Hai, Here One interesting thing peoples saying thanks to dhoni. But i dont know why to him instead of sachin-ganguly partnership. When team in bad condition sachin-ganguly build the partnership and handover to rest of team.Dhoni done his job what exactly gilchrist done for australia in past. But when entire team struggles by that time never dhoni performed well in test matches..Peoples respect All and fab five seniors because they only shows the way for juniors how to success in both in home and abroad. My special thanks and wishes to ganguly..we are missing great leader..

Dhoni vs Oldies
by J Jena on Oct 21, 2008 02:40 PM

Though its too early to comment, but Dhoni definitely has all traits to surpass al his predecessors.

1. Dhoni & his team brought back the Indian team from Ashes by winning T20 after the shameful exit of Indian team in the 1st round of World Cup.

2. Dhoni & his team did the same rescue act in SL onedayers after We were outplayed by a rookie called Mendis in tests.

3. Agin Dhoni is the catalist to reversed the trend of loss aginst Aussies at Home. India never lost test series to Aussies in India since 1969. Ganguly and co was the team to lose a home series to Aussies after 36 years in 2005. A series loss was evident in Bangalore. But Dhoni & co reversed the trend. No doubt the seniors played their role. But why they were not performing earlier, bcoz they are now hard pressed to save their position.

4. The bench strength has definitely improved under Dhoni. The era of indispensibility which was built by seniors has gone.

5. Moreover the youngsters has an aspiration to build whereas the oldies has only personal to protect. These oldies despite being playing for more than decade can not show a WC.

India - taking 2-0 lead
Bhajji - 300 wickets (needs 11 to go past Lance Gibbs as the second most succesful off spinner)
Dravid - 5 catches away from Mark Waughs record
Dhoni - hattrick of test wins in first 3 tests
Badri - test debut (in place of Laxman)
Sachin - 40th test 100

There is one very very important stat that you forgot buddy......

Sachin Tendulkar...the great Sachin is now on 99 catches in test cricket...one more catch and he will complete an extremely commendable achievemnt of 100 test catches and join the elite league of Sunny Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid.....bravo Sachin!!!!!!
