Can they be right?
by Belnho Perez on Jan 07, 2008 12:28 PM  | Hide replies

s 6.30 am here and I cannot believe what I am hearing from the Indiam cricket team. Have they taken over completely from Ranatunga's Sri Lankan team as the biggest, whiny whingers you have ever come across? I am astounded at their woeful behaviour. They call Australia, vulgar, unsportsmanlike, they racially abuse one of our players, incite the crowd to intimidate in an environment that can only be described as potentially threatening, stand at the crease, dissenting the majority of the umpires decisions, although of course some were awful, whinge, racially abuse one of our players again with some tepid line "that it's not offensive in India". Have India become so blinded that they cannot see that the gesture and word is offensive in approximately 99% of countries around the world? They then turn around and sook like little schoold children with comments like "the team is very disappointed with Australia's unspirtsmanlike behaviour., the team is drained right now, we thought we would come here to play in the right spirit of the game etc."(sic) However, hang on it get's worse! On top of all that, they have threatened to pull out of the tour and go home, and believe this...have demanded that the umpires be sacked!!! Does India believe they are calling the shots in international cricket that they can simply say and do however they please? For god's sake just shutup, play cricket and win a game, we all know that's what it's really all about...YOU JUST CAN'T WIN! If you can't be qu

Every cricket lover around the world is pretty much aware how u guyz conduct urselves on the field and wtz the level of comfort u ve while on the field with the opposition team members.Barring Adam Gilchrist none of the aussie players have the spirit to appreciate good cricket,,shame on you.If you are allowed to play this beautiful game for another 10 years i dont see any of the players taking the field without a dagar or a revolver.
Last but not the least...India have history of a great heritage and culture of thousands of years,we respect each and every individual on this earth but it should not be seen as our weakness.Im sure the booming India will give you guyz a fitting reply in the coming years.Jai Hind

I think with 8 dismissals being bought out by Australia we are sure the Australians fixed the match with The Umpires. And They are the bloody whinners as a guy like Symmonds has created such a dirty scene along with their Head a cut throat Cheat ( Ponting) there is no way one can ask for a fair game Hit them Hard when they are wrong Let there be a lot of Mudslinging as the Aussies stand exposed here- For their Brand of Sportsmanship

Hello all Australians!!!!

Myself an Indian and a keen follower of cricket which is not a gentleman's game anymore(courtesy u guyz).
Sydney Cricket Test match was marred by umpiring blunders and conduct of the players. The prime reason for this i beleive was aussies were hell bent on equalling the world record for consecutive test wins and wanted to win either by hook or crook which in the end was achieved in the most infamous way corresponding with the underarm bowling of Greg Chappel's team.
We Indians were never jealous of the success of the australian team coz we love competitive and proffessional approach that they bring on to the field.Unfortunately for the last few years u guyz are also bringing along the audacity that u can get away doing anything on the field in the name of aggression.
We get to read in newspapaers about the fine imposed on Indian cricketers for slightest of the dissent or verbal interaction,,but never have we come across an australian (or any white for that matter) being fined, tell us who's racist,,Indians or u guyz or ICC?

Well .. unfortunate developments .. but Indian Team cannot be blamed..

India were destined to win this Sydney Test .. if Symonds was rightfully given out when he was on 30 .. the margin of victory was just 122 .. and Symmo went onto score 162!

The saddest part is the Aussie Captain's behaviour!!! He comes to India and says that Murali Kartik should hv walked .. and there were more than 2 or three instances when the Aussies .. including Ponting himself should hv walked!! What a hypocrite!!!! Ponting is just blinded by the thoughts of overtaking Steve's record of 16 consecutive Test Wins ...

Claiming unclean catches & Unwarranted appeals were other matters which showed the aussies in poor light ..

Earlier, We respected the Aussies for their grit and determination .. but now with these cheap ways and short-cuts.. they have fallen in every cricket lover's eyes.. I dont know how the Aussie media and public would be able to cherish this victory .. So shameful!!

Last but not the least ... Well Played Indian Team ... especially Kumble, Sachin, Sourav & Laxman! These are real cricketers mate!!!

You couldn't believe because you thought we don't have guts and we won't retaliate for whatever you people do. All these years the Aussie team abused and sleged the coloured cricketers in the name competitive cricket. You called Muralidharan a chucker, Jayasurya a monkey and Hashim Amla a terrorist and got away with it all. You people thought that we would take every thing lying low. But we won't anymore. Aussies thought that it is only their privilege to abuse and sledge others and couldn't take it when they get back what they give to others.
As for the umpiring decisions, majority of the umpiring decisions went against our team. But for them we would have won the match. Had you been the affected party, you won't write like this.Whatever you may say, Aussie team may be no.1 in the game but they stand last when it comes to spotrsman spirit.

The Sydney Predicament
by amitava sarma on Jan 07, 2008 12:26 PM

There is really no point in India's continuing with the Tour when Umpires r the 12th and 13th man of Australia. Besides Ricky is totally dishonest and Adam is also following suit. I am reminded of an incident in Australia where Gavaskar led the Team out but Kumble is too far a gentleman to do it . Australia is totally dishonest and they do not subscribe to the term that this is not cricket. So why bother Mr Sridhar or Mr Pawar when u will show ur teeth and thru rediff I wud like to appeal to all Test Playing Nations to summarily boycott the present Australian team let them b busay wid their Sheffeld shield matches. Aban shd be imposed on Steve Waugh for coming to Kolkata and no Australian shd be appointed Indian Coach Gary is all right!

"Please excuse my fellow Indian countryman. I am highly embarrassed at Anil Kumbles post match comments. He is a sore loser who showed that losing hurts and he is not used to such things as captain. Also, we must realise that Ponting was given out to a bad decision and our great Sachin was plumb LBW to M Clarke and this was not given. We are also very mad with Bajii for his rude and naughty comment, he should have apologised to Symonds and Australia. There have been many mistakes by umpires on both sides, this is the game that happens some days. Well done Australia, you are deserving and Ponting is no cheat.

its high time indians show solidarity with the team and more so the bcci
they always use indians players to get their money
its high time all indians ,media, and politicians and all right thinking indians shud support indian team .for thier just and genuine cause this is thetime to stand by sporting indians.pl dont allow this bcci president to just take political stand.its high time he rises above his personal gain og getting elected as icc chairman probably he is more concerned abut his seat typical politician
as usual our people win the battles but lose the war as our politicians are concerned abut their seat position and money and they dont show their concern for our self esteem pride and patriotism.

Double standard?
by Belnho Perez on Jan 07, 2008 12:22 PM  | Hide replies

"If Harbhajan gets away with this (on appeal) then it will confirm everything we know about sub-continent cricket: they can dish it out but are unwilling to accept the consequences - always very willing to play the race card but unwilling to be respectful of racial sensitivities in others. They way they have come to Harbhajan's defense clearly demonstrates this - given that he is a repeat offender."

who can question Ricky's integrity Nobody can because
by jaguar info tech on Jan 07, 2008 12:21 PM  | Hide replies

he doesnt have one
2) here is a guy who has gone for deaddiction for his admitted drinking problems
3) Felt it was okay to squeeze the back side of a middle aged lady in a party in Calcutta
4) Abuses Srinath when he was hit by his bouncers and Srinath asked him out of concern
5) He puts down a set of rules for the series and expects only the indian team to follow it.
6) He is a born cheat as his favorite past time is gambling and betting on Dogs.

I am a psychiatrist and remember no mad patient will agree that he is mad that is what Ponting was telling that he has an integrity but has lost it when he was born. I THINK I STILL HAVE a chance to cure this guy but I HONESTLY FEEL OUR BCCI guys require it in the first place. THIS GUYS CANNOT TAKE MY COUNTRYS PRIDE For granted
