Secularism is mentioned only in the preamble of the Indian constitution. Not in that of Pakistan. FYI Pakistan is "Islamic Republic of Pakistan". Hence I feel we should give it a pass, and on the other hand give a pat to Shoaib for adhering to the constitutional fundamentals of his nation.
But I do agree as an outsider it does sound lil' 2 crazy.

Well it was not surprising to here this from a pakastani team.Imran Khan ( what ever greatness he may have)did say once that it is jihad when thay play agnaist India. Now he says so many things in his defence but he being a well literate person that too from Britain can not be excused. He was wrong, he may be roll model for Pakistan but he is villain for India.Mallik's satement as refgerred here is clear sign of taliban attitude and ill thinking. I endorse your feeling.

The public in Pakistan are stunch follower of Islam. They treat even sports as War. The players have fear of being manhandled when they go back to their country. Many of the Pakistani player stay in England most of the time. Pakistan was never a secular country. Hence what you can expect from them.

Good one dude. Agarkar should be garlanded for not using his political connection in the interest of the team. Otherwise his figures would be 4-0-60-0. And Pak would have won in 15 overs with 6 wickets to spare.
NOW WHERE ARE THOSE CRITICS ? WHO AFTER WC DEBACLE IN WEST INDIES SAID THAT TEAM INDIA SHOULD PLAY GILLI-DANDA, THEY SHOULD STOP PLAYING CRICKET, SACHIN SHOULD RETIRE, RAHUL / DHONI IS OF NO USE - - ETC ETC. PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN TO STAND BY THE PLAYERS IN THE MOMENT DISTRESS/FAILURES & INCREASE THIER MORALE. NO ONE DELIBRETELY LOSES A MATCH. AFTER ALL ITS A GAME. ONE MUST REALISE THE FEELINGS, AGONY & PAIN THEY GONE THRU AFTER EARLY EXIT IN THE WORLD CUP AT WI.
This win should be attributed to Agarkar. His presence in the dressing room alone motivate other players to lift their game.
Any player seeing him thinks "However I play, it cannot be as bad as he plays"
This thought helps even Joginder singh & new comer like Rohit Sharma, Yusouf Pathan to play good cricket.
The Theme of dressing room was "Whatever may be the situation on the ground. It cannot be more worse then Agarkar's Bowling ".
The whole team should thanks to Agarkar that the way he use his political connections to get into the team he doesnt use it to get into the final eleven. He is very honest there

Damn good dude. Let me add one more to it, Agarkars parttime mentor Vengsarkar played in only the two games India lost in the 1983 World Cup. Hope you enjoy this even more.

SIMPLY TERRIFIC. GOING FURTHER.....WE MUST MAKE AGARKAR, A PERMANENT MEMBER OF INDIAN CRCKET TEAM. HE WILL ENSURE A HEALTHY & POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT IN THE DRESSING ROOM.

That is a good one. I would attribute this win to Agarkar. Had he been in the team, we would not have been in the team. His sacrifice would be remembered and cherished for the next n years.

AGARKAR SHOULD LEARN OVERNIGHT WHAT HIS PHYSICAL PRESENCE ON THE FIELD CAUSES.PLEASE DONT TAKE HIS NAME.FOR GOD'S SAKE VENGSARKAR THERE IS A LOT OF OPTIONS NOW.PLEASE STOP SELECTING HIM IN THE NAME OF GIVING HIM A CHANCE.AGARKAR IS PANOTI # ONE.SICK & TIRED OF WATCHING HIM.CONGRATULATIONS FOR T20 WORLD CHAMPIONS.THANKS TO DHONI'S CAPTAINSHIP AND HANDLING OF BATTING LINE-UP & BOWLING RESHUFLING.THIS IS THE WAY TO WIN MATCHES.

baba allah hamare sath hai isiliye toh ham jite, kya huwa agar muslim nahi. ham agar apne players ko bura bhi kahate hai, to ham unse utna hi pyar karate hai, samaze mamu
India almost made a heavy weather of the game and was gifting the victory to Pak.It was difficult to fathom as to how from 66/7 at one point of time, Pak was allowed to crawl back into the game. I would have been sad if India would not have won after coming so close, but I am not very happy that India has won because India did not win based on its performance on the ground but because of some poor, injudicious and tactical blunders made by Pak on the ground.

OK u be happy like me and almost everybody else. May be after living in fools paradise for some time till we come down to the ground is OK. But make no mistake they will improve and we will have to be also so not to win next world cup after 24 more years.

India would not have won if Robin Utthapa have not dont the Run Out, India would not have won if Sahid Afradi would have played cautiously, dammmmmmmm Bul Shit. Stop giving this execuses. Its a game of Cricket and all the players are very talented. People like you creates an unnecessary unhealthy environment. The guys have toiled very hard through out the tournaments and One should give them credit for all there hard works. From your comments it seems Indian Player did not do any thing in the field and it was the mistakes of the Pak players which allowed India to Win the World Cup, What kind of person you are.Really pity on you. I can say that it was mistake of Indian Player that did not batted so intelligently other wise they would have crossed 200 and the margin of win would have higher. So Pak is lucky that Indian batting did not clicked the same way as it clicked for Aus and SA. So stop giving bull shit statement like that and learn how to appreciate hard work

very true. It was a pressure situation and Pak did blunders. India held it nerves and won the match. We should give credit to the team when they play well, not attribute the victory to the reason that other team din;t do well. Congrats India, Chak De India !!
I am eager to hear, some one saying few good word for a man who took the last catch under crushing pressure situation. Some time the last moments count, the win came by only 5 runs, Misbah was totally over top of the match.........but the man who took the catch he made the difference. My applaud goes to him.
RE:Is somebody talking about the man who took the catch in crushing pressure situation?
by Durga Raj on Sep 25, 2007 10:19 AM
Yeah, Hats off to Sreeshant, who held on to the Catch. Imagine we would not have been celebrating if he would have plundered with that catch. Good work Sree!!!
