Great sledging against aussies - Part I
by Singh on Oct 16, 2007 03:57 PM

As Cullinan was on his way to the wicket, Warne told him he had been waiting 2 years for another chance to humiliate him. %u201CLooks like you spent it eating ,%u201D Cullinan retorted.

Why is this issue being blown out of proportion...I can recall countless instances of abuses hurled by aussies on other teams including India..why all this hoopla in case of Shreesanth Aussies are getting what they dish out. Although, I would like to mention that Aussies have enough fire power to show that little arrogance and a lot of agression.

What adjectly wrong?
by on Oct 16, 2007 03:54 PM

What adjectly wrong he has done can anybody tell me?Is celebration after getting the wickets are wrong or after bowling seeing in to the eyes of the batsman r wrong?
Why media r spoiling the carrer of such a class bowler i don't know.

But what i can understand from the all issue is Aussies r going in to the new concept of bleming others, they know that all players r adapting their own strategies and applying in to them so they have created this all new concept, well done aussies.

I think these things will happen again and again as the other teams are unable to digest the young team India's achivements. To make us loose our temperament they have been using foul language in the past and they will do so in the future. We Indians just have to agree that this is and will be a part of the Indian matches specially against Australia and England

We have to be bold in our actions we cannot sit quite like before.

I really like the way how Irfan Pathan acted in the last game after Andrew Symonds verbally abused him.

There is no other way then to reply in the same language they understand and if they still don't understand they just take your gloves off and have a bare knuckle fight.

Irfan Pathan's behaviour was disgraceful...this is no way you behave with a visiting team especially a team that is visiting Indian shores after 3 years!!

Do you want that every Indian should shut there mouth and do not take any actions no matter what the visitors say. So much for the guests. We will see if the Aussies will keep there mouth shut when India will visit Australia.

Why the hell we need to react at all? We speak 'Bhxxx", 'Maxxx" language all the time even when we are talking with friends. Similarly they talk "fxx" language. I know we used to do sledging even in gully cricket. You show a sign of weakness every time you react badly to sledging. Real performers don't care who says what. What is more important is to keep focus on the game. Thats where we can't compare ourself against Aussies. Ponting can easily unnerve our players by using calculated words. Why? Thats because we lack this art of playing mental games.

there is a diff betn T20 world cup and this series
boss we have defeated all the other countries to get that cup

and this is how we did it

In the post-match presentation, Ravi Shastri to Dhoni "Congratulations to you and the whole Indian team for winning this world cup. You guys have produced a great nail baiting show.. and deserves the cup. We welcome you to share the joy with us."

Dhoni "Thanks Ravi, the match was pretty close encounter between two great teams and our guys held the nerve to win the game and cup."

Shastri, "Who was the main reason for this thrilling victory?"

Dhoni, "All us played well but I would say the main reason and man behind this great victory is Ajit Agarkar"

Shocked Shastri..., "Agarkar ? ? .. how come Agarkar... he didn't played in the final"

Dhoni, "Yeaph.. that's the reason we won this low scoring match.. if he could have bowled in final, Pakistan would have scored the winning runs from his 4 overs...."

Shastri, "ok.. fine, To whom you want to thank for winning this final..."

Dhoni, "The team doctor deserves the credit... he really helped us to prepare for the final..."

Shastri, "Is it? ?.... how the doctor helped to prepare for the final...he is not the coach or physical trainer...Dhoni. . I am getting confusion"

Dhoni, "Ravi... nothing to confuse... he has failed Sehwag in the fitness test according to our game plan and we managed to pick a good playing team.. thus we weigh the doctor's contribution as very high...infact its better t

yes ur right
we should have given last over in the both the matches against aus and pak to agarkar

jonginder sharma knew that if he got it wrong he is no doubt out of cricket
so he gave his 100% and it paid off
we need such guys in our team

Shastri, "To whom you want to dedicate this World Cup?"

Dhoni, "The entire team including myself wants to dedicate this cup to Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly..."

Shastri, "I really really appreciate you... its good that you have so much respect to the seniors....and you ...." Dhoni interrupts.. .."Ravi.. let me complete... India would have exited in the Group matches if they decided to play in the series... thank god they opted out and we managed to play cricket and won the cup.."

Shastri, "The match was thrilling encounter and was concluded by a single mistake of Misbah.. Isn't it? "

Dhoni, "Yes you are right, after lofting the ball Misbah told me that he has sent the ball to where there was no one....but he didn't know that there is a Malayali in every corner of the world. This single mistake has coasted the game and won the cup..."

Shastri faints and Dhoni receives the CUP and thats the end of the great Twenty-20 world cup.

All for sledging by Indians
by Singh on Oct 16, 2007 03:48 PM

I am all for sledging by Indians but only if its backed up by display of batting, bowling and field skills. Sledging alone won't win you matches..also no racist comments please.. you can talk about their wives, sisters etc they way they do ... and even our players can give them back by telling fat jokes about their moms... once McGrath asked Eddo Brandes after beating his bat a few times "how come you are so fat?".. He replied "because everytime i mak elove to your wife , she gives me a biscuit" ;)

If austalians pass any remark about your BATTING or CATCHING THE BALL, just tell them go and ask your WIFE/SISTER/MOTHER ABOUT OUR BATTING/CATCHING THE BALL.

They deserve this kind of langauge only.

Sreesanth is spoiling the name of India!!
by Bhasmasur on Oct 16, 2007 03:39 PM  | Hide replies

Look at the way the Aussies conduct themselves on the field of play...have you seen any Aussie cricketer abusing Sachin, Dravid or Kumble??

But tyros and novices like Sreesanth are abusing icons of the game like Ponting and Gilchirst...it is so shameful and sad...that the young generation with earrings and tatoos does not know how to respect the greats of the game!!

Atleast the Aussies know how to respect Sachin, Dravid and other greats.. our guys don't know how to respect Ponting and Gilichirst...real shame!!
Sreesanth is a blot on the name of cricket and is bringing the game into disrepute!!

My friend these so-called Aussie gentlemen shower praises on our players off the field, but they abuse them like hell when they are batting. We should also give them lots of "respect" outside the field but we should not hold back on the field. Only thing to keep in mind is that we should be detached from it mentally; don't let words affect your concentration on the game. Otherwise we SHOULD pay them back in the same coin. It's a part of the game.

SHUT UP PREM
by r on Oct 16, 2007 03:39 PM

When Aussies sledge & react badly, no one questions. remember Ricky Ponting abusing Srinath for bowling a high full toss, even after Srinath apologied?remember Slater abusing Dravid for a catch?remember Mcgrath abusing players like Tendulkar and teaching him how to play the stroke? if all these are acceptable, Sreesanth has done nothing wrong. May be since we are losing, he is getting undue attention. Infact it was Ponting , Symonds & team which started all this when they landed here. Symonds is on record that India got over reception for winning the T20. did Australia remained calm after winning WC? why bias if it is done by Sub-Continent r=teams.

Our Youngsters do not want to remain dumb and they show the aggression. Nothing wrong in that. Only thing is that India has to Win. Becos of this agressiveness, Sourav brought a vibrant team. So Mr. Prem Panicker Pls SHUT UP.
