Rajendra bongale,u seems brainless this is just for u...pls pls make u r eyes wide open... Ponting scored 172 total runs in 8 test matches in India with one Half century and 0 Century with the highest score of 60 and batting average of 12.28
Sachin has 1029 runs against australia in Australian pitches. with 4 century and 3 half century with an average of 54.15 and the highest score of 241
How many times did Ponting have to face Lee, McGrath, McDermot, Kasprowicz
How many times did Sachin get a chance to feast on pop-gun bowlers like Prasad, Srinath, Agarkar
If you want to talk about someone winning a match single handedly do not compare Indian players with other country players expecially Australia, NZ,SA and Pakistan. All those countries have great bowlers who can finish the job once batsman score heavily and again they have batsman who can give company. But in India alone we have players who cant even score double digit scores when Tendulkar is batting and also we have pathetic bowlers who cant take 20 wickets all the time. Good example will be to look at the match against pakistan. when Tendulkar made 136 runs, only Mongia made 50 odd runs and the next highest scorer was Dravid with 10 runs. If ever ponting was in Indian team, He could never done even half of what sachin has done for India. Try to respect great people. I never once said Ponting is horrible player. But you guys always say Tendulkar is bad

Don't ask as if India does not have any other batsmen. There is no dearth of young batsmen.Yuvraj,Kaif,Raina,Uthappa,Manoj Tewary..the list is endless. They have to be drafted in over the next few months. Please please forget about Sachin,Ganguly.Lets move on.Do not wait for the next Bangladesh series for them to score centuries again.

Bhaskar, I have never seen people who are so senseless, Do you guys really use your brains ever or just talk with what you heart desires.Yuvraj is already in the team so lets forget talking about him. All other players like Raina, kaif, uttappa are not even half of what saching or dravid or ganguly is capable of doing IN TODAYS SITUATION(Please note i am talking about them as of today not their past glories.Suresh raina's average in last 10 matches are 16.37,last 20 matches are 18.94, Last 30 matches are 27.52, Kaif's last 10 matches average is 26.87,last 20 matches average is 19.31,last 30 match average is 25.37,Gambhir last 10 matches average 36.88,last 20 matches average 30.78, Tendulkar last 10 matches average 40.37,Last 20 matches average 38,last 30 matches average 45.68,dravid last 10 matches average 42.83,last 20 matches average 48.00,last 30 matches average 35.04. Please read those numbers and tell me who is better. Youngsters or Seniors

Statistics tells only one half of the Story.Pl. provide the Statistics for these worthies away from Home Pitches and removing those "Glorious" centuries against Bangladesh,Namibia ,Zimbabwe,Ireland,Holland, etc and you will know the real story. Also the Youngsters have to be taken at some stage!

Tell me what stats you want. So i can provide you that rather than saying take away the centuries against those contries and home pitch matches. How about ponting or any other player for that matter. Everyone will score heavily in their own home pitches. How much Ponting has scored in Indian pitches. Go look at the number of runs scored by ponting in 8 test matches he played in India. You know what is his average 12.28. Tendulkar has 18 century in the matches played outside India also excluding countries like zimbabwe, bangla, kenya or namibia.Tell me one person in the whole world who has more centuries than Tendulkar in away pitches excluding centuries against contries like bangladesh, kenya, zimbabwe or namibia. If there is no person in the whole world. then please dont ever talk about cricket or ask all the cricketers in the world to retire before you call for tendulkars head
The balance of the team is not allowing YUVI to be fitted in the middle order. Only chance for Yuvi to find a place in team is to drop LAXMAN or go with only three specialist bowlers. Poor fella !!!!!!!!!1

Well I agree ganguly was an Excellent batsman and captain. I too am a big fan of his. But things should go on.Time to replace him. And Why not bring Akash chopra as opener who was wonderful in Australia.Yuvrah deserves a plac ein the team..

wait and see, if team bbci give chance to laxman definitely he will score a century. india's main weak point is they always take opposite team very lightly.
