This is for sure copied heading and article from cricinfo. What a shame. SOmebody hetting paid cannot spend some time to write in his own words. Well Copycat someday you will be sued.
The time is ripe for Dravid to open in Tests and pave way for Yuvraj to bat in the middle order. Yuvraj is the Brian lara of Indian cricket and also one of the most talented of the new lot. He can no more be left out of the test matches.
RE:Yuvraj should play in tests regularly
by bharat on Dec 10, 2007 09:52 PM
why ask dravid to sacrifice..yuvi is fighting for a place so if the opening spot is up for grabbing then he should open....virender shewag did the same...he was successful at that too...
RE:Yuvraj should play in tests regularly
by biswa pal on Dec 10, 2007 11:29 PM
not a sacrifice, only cricketing logic.he bats at number three and almost always he bats against the new ball.anyways these days its better to play the new ball as the ball starts to reverse as it gets old.
RE:Yuvraj should play in tests regularly
by Hemant Gupta on Dec 10, 2007 10:09 PM
This is not a sacrifice. Dravid do batting as opener and he was sucessfully done that job. Also think if wicket fell in first over or second over he has to face the new ball. So why not as an opner. We also get a gud batsmen in the team. Because we all know Karthik is not that much sound batsmen then Yuvi.
RE:Yuvraj should play in tests regularly
by swerf on Dec 10, 2007 10:23 PM
Dravid has a sound technique and is the best bet to be an opener. Moreover, since yuvi is young and will be a vital part of the middle order once Sachin, Sourav , Laxman and Dravid retires, it will be best for him to bat in the middle overs.
RE:Yuvraj should play in tests regularly
by cynic on Dec 10, 2007 09:44 PM
hmmm yeah Kumble has a tough choice to make how to accomodate Yuvi if at all, sometimes too many choices also is a cause of headache, but it is heartening to know that Yuvi has the right temperament and even if he is not played he is going to spend sleepless nights over it. Indian team looks like one big happy family now, hope they remain the same even while they lose.

and rediff should block ips for an hour for those who write abusive messages, not just ids, i knows most ips are dynamic but blocking it for an hour will cut down all this nonsense by a long way.
RE:Please clean this MSG Board
by cynic on Dec 10, 2007 10:11 PM
oh man that is sad, just go ahead and mark it for abuse as simple as that, but you cant stop people from abusing, you should just ignore it and get on with it. It does not mean a thing really because they just hide behind rediff ids and write like this they have no guts to talk like this openly.
This is once again a lesson for the indian team. They cannot expect to win with 2 bowlers and 6 batsmen. They still expect a dustbowl everytime to pick wickets? On good wickets they always struggle to get even tailenders. Karthik should have been given a final chance to open and prove himself which would have allowed an additional bowler to play, probably murali karthik. That would have given more variety to this attack otherwise looking very ordinary. They are going to struggle to get even 10 wickets downunder if they just keep strengthening the batting and fail to improve their bowling
RE:Poor thinking again
by Spinal Tap on Dec 10, 2007 09:38 PM
Dude!! They are doing a great favour for Kartik by asking him not to 'open'. Keepers(which he is in this match) would not prefer to open as they need a break from the field. And, Kartik would be delighted not to open, as he is not a regular opener.
RE:Poor thinking again
by ganesh ganesh on Dec 10, 2007 09:48 PM
Agree that it is real hard work for keepers to open in test matches. But if situation demands it can be done. It is atleast sure that Karthik is not going to do keeping as long as Dhoni is in the team,so he could have been given a chance to open for 1 last time to see if his form is really good to takehim over to OZ as an opener. Indians cannot lose this series anyway, so why dont they go with for the kill instead of playing safe with more batsmen. they need the killer instinct more to face the foul-mouthed aussies soon.. i'm sure these guys are going to have new opening pairs for every test match if they dont think properly
RE:Poor thinking again
by Spinal Tap on Dec 10, 2007 10:14 PM
As I said,'Kartik would be delighted not to open' in this match as he is keeping in this match. Now, dont blame anyone or anything else if he failed to deliver in this match. He has no one else to blame.

Yes Indians are at least one bowler short in this test. Don't know why Kumble, being a bowler himself allowed this to happen. Bowlers win test matches.
1--Washim jaffer 2--Sachin Tendulkar 3--Rahul Dravid 4--Sourav Ganguly 5--VVS Laxman 6--Yuvraj Singh 7--MS Dhoni 8--Irfan Pathan 9--Anil Kumble 10--Zahir Khan 11-RP Singh...........This is the right choice .........This team can beat any team in the world.....really...
RE:1--Washim jaffer

one change ...that I would like to make is,Sreeshant(if fit) in place of pathan(bacause Pathan is like a allrounder, his bowling is not up to the mark)and I wnat to make some changes in bating order also.. 1--Jaffer 2--Dravid 3--Laxman 4--Sachin 5--Sourav 6--Yuvraj 7--Dhoni 8--Anil 9--Zaheer 10--Sreeshant(if fit otherwise go ahead with Munaf only) 11-RP Singh.......
RE:1--Washim jaffer
by Patriot on Dec 10, 2007 09:17 PM
thats what..he is more suitable(infact sureshot)for T-20 and 50-50 but in Test cricket,he has lost his wicket taking ability. So,we need bolwers who can take 5 wkt hauls rather than scoring runs(though it is advt for the team).
RE:1--Washim jaffer
by Patriot on Dec 10, 2007 09:26 PM
After his comeback,he is bowling at 120Km/h,Almost in all the matches Dhoni stood up for him,ok..he is taking wickets but how?batsman trying to play shots and getting out and in limited overs match he knows he has to bowl only certain overs. But currently it's better if he is not picked in 11 for test match(unless 2 of Zaheer,Munaf, sree,RP injured). This is my personal opinion
RE:1--Washim jaffer
by Spinal Tap on Dec 10, 2007 10:17 PM
he is taking wickets but how?batsman trying to play shots and getting out and in limited overs match he knows he has to bowl only certain overs. THAT IS 'Ridiculous'.
After his comeback, he is bowling at 120Km/h. Does not matter as long as he is getting wickets for India. Does not Bhajji bowl slower than him?
RE:1--Washim jaffer
by Hemant Gupta on Dec 10, 2007 09:27 PM
Sreeshant is not going there because his name is not in the probables...yes instead of Sreesanth we can have Irfan. I chose Irfan because if he get the condition he can swing the ball both ways and can trouble the batsmen.
RE:1--Washim jaffer
by cynic on Dec 10, 2007 10:01 PM
any idea why Sreesanth was dropped ? he can bowl at 140 and very few can bowl at that speed in India, though he is a little childish
RE:1--Washim jaffer
by Ashwin Shankar on Dec 10, 2007 10:31 PM
Sreeshant has a shoulder injury and may not make it to the tour. Its highly doubtful that Zaheer and RP Singh would be fully fit either. The pace bowing dept would be a real problem and hence getting 20 wickets to win any game would be highly unlikely. I would love to be proved wrong and I'd be delighted even if our spinners could deliver killer blows. But the key would be to tie the Aussie batmen down and limit their scoring rate. They are more prone to taking chances and getting out than actually getting them with good balls.

The Caption is always a accidental and by changing the language is not the creativity. You can read the article it flows the same way that is given in crickinfo. And about the caption I will show you in near future that this accidents will again take place.

Looks good to me. Atleast, the batting department looks good. Bowling, cant say right now. We have to wait and see. Sachin wont be opening, though.Probably it will be either Dravid or VVS.

But I visited a Pakistani forum and they don't seem to be very happy with the performances of Misbah and Butt. People wrote that Misbah couldn't do anything meaningful against the SA in the test matches held recently. Similarly they feel that Salman Butt excels only against India.

Dont they have a point? This has been the case till date? Misbah & Butt are wonderful but have a point to prove.
