Vengy shown the door
by tanmaya goswami on Dec 04, 2007 11:22 AM

The real play is being played behind the whole front facade.... The Western part of BCCI was and has been the richest part. For some years the power shifted from West to East (Dalmia) with a step in from North (Bindra).... After trying for some years together (Dungapur & Bindra), they were finally successful by using Pawar..... Now these very people in admnistration are fighting among themselves including their supporters (like Vengy & others but excluding Gavaskar)..... We didn't get to see this during Dalmia as he was a strong administrator and effective..... Pawar is very shrewd, knows everything but plays one against another and play waiting game..... I am afraid this game of Cricket and Indian team will be in doldrums and out for sale once the senior cricketers retire....... All who could work like Kapil, More and now Vengy shall be with ICL..... Shastri & Gavaskar are shrewd and shall not take up full time job with BCCI..... It is the mandarins of Western part of BCCI who are behind this mess.... should be thrown out.. like the futile but at least attempted Rang De Basanti theme..........

BCCI and rules
by Voltron Systems on Dec 04, 2007 11:18 AM

BCCI put lot of rules. Just 2 months ago Greg chappell returned as coach or consultant to Rajasthan Cricket association. Greg chappell resigned/removed from the post of coach indian team( BCCI). But still Mr. Lalit Modi holding a big post in BCCI brought him and appointed him for his RCA( Rajasthan Cricket association). Is it not breach of any contract?. If any cricket association in India appoints Mr.Ford/Mr. Kapil dev will the board keep quiet?. Ravi Shastri/K.Srikkanth is the best man to replace Vengsarkar.

Good!
by vijai vel on Dec 04, 2007 11:17 AM

It is good that V'Sarkar is hurt and is going to resign which will be accepted by BCCI. He has, in his tenure, hurt many around him including some players and deserves to be treated the same way. He had dictatorial attitude which needed to be curbed. Good riddance. How can he ever expect to be treated as if he is a demi-god and untouchable?

The ugliest face of BCCI
by James Bond on Dec 04, 2007 11:14 AM

Generally, when we have a pimple, or rough patch of skin on face, we hesitate to come out and avoid going out on that day. Here is a man, Sharad Pawar, whose face is broken from jaw and obviously not fit for shoot. The guy doesn't hesitate to even roam around, but feel priviledged to get a photograph with foreign teams. Remember, how he was kicked out of the photoframe by Australian team.

All big industrial houses, like Zee should now own a full-fledge sports academy and BCCI should be banned. They should take sports in their hands. This way not only more and more people will get opportunity to play on national levels but the sport particularly cricket, will not become sole property of Sharad Pawar. Shame on him, he looks shaby on television.

Vengsarkar should dump BCCI
by Yogesh on Dec 04, 2007 11:13 AM

against all who are trying to thrash Mr. Vengsarkar, i feel that he is being made a scape goat by the ugly BCCI. he was thrashed by everybody on the Dravid issue and now again he is being pushed to limits. its all clear that anybody who dares to go speak against this crappy organisatiion, they will make life difficult for him. its sad that people like Sharad Pawar and Niranjan Shah who have never held cricket bat in their hand are deciding terms for cricketers. its high time that we all who take cricket as our religion throw these croons out. the process has already started with the ICL turning out to be a succes and the support they are garnering, the dooms day for BCCI is near.

Jai Hind.

Vengsarkar
by chandrakant kamdar on Dec 04, 2007 11:11 AM

If Mr Vengsarkar knew the guidelines, rules , and regullations when signing or agreeing to be the selection body chief, why does he first of all continuing his writing the column. Secondly he should now not make an issue of his personal grievance (and that too overriding the regulatins and guidelines) public. Why is he threatening but not resigning. I agree with others that no body should be above the law.
