Refer "How Chappel can be blamed..." The officials of BCCI are like crows who hides things under straw by keeping their eyes closed and assuming world is not watching. Its too funny of them. N. Shah says " So called experienced Chappel is experimenting with good intention for India". Doing things with good intention but without end result is "Inefficiency" Mr. Niranjan Shah. And all the board members of the selection committee are responsible for this- Particularly Kiran More for his foolish adamancy. It is no doubt now that the TEAM INDIA which was built by another "experienced " out-of-form Player Ganguly has been scattered by Chappel and the regional politics and personal agenda/ vindication towards Dalmia cascading down to Sourav . Otherwise, so many experienced good players are not being removed inspite of their bad plays?-Tendulkar inclusive. can a coach get a 2-way remuneration? india was the only country which could and Challenged Australlia. But the present team is a demoralized lot. By the staements of Dravid and "no comments" from Tendulakar" whenever souravs inclusion come into foray is indicative of anything? I think there is nothing wrong in experimenting with the team because by doing this we will explore unlimited resources or talent. As all of us know that Cricket is very popular amongst Indians and everybody loves watching the game due to which expectations are so high that we feel very bad when team fails to perform as per our expectation level and we start giving comments about the current team and the coach. I think the only thing is we must keep faith in our team and the coach.
The most disgusting thing is that when players start giving comments and there views about each other, I think they should think that there team is like a family and nobody is allowed to comment about any of his family member..
And the experiments by Mr. Chapell may help us during the World Cup as by that time he will be having unlimited number of resources and statistics...
The issue is not w/ Chappel, Irfan or Sachin, it's with the team's psyche. A good string of performances by a player is met w/ a plethora of corporate contracts which skyrockets him to a multi-crorepathi. The love of the game gets replaced by the love of gold, and it clearly shows in the attitude of our team, which no doubt has a collection of the world's most talented cricket players.
Rewarding players w/ $$$ is good as an incentive booster (to perform) no doubt but as the old saying goes "too much of anything is bad for you." If I was a class bowler for India and I notched up 20 crore of Rupees, I'd seriously not care too much about the game. And I'm being honest.
While the current string of players enjoy crorepathi benefits, class performers of the domestic scene w/out corporate backing sometimes find it difficult to meet their ends. Something's surely wrong at the grassroots level and it's not Chappel.
Perhaps its time we learnt that a team's success has no correlation w/ hiring an expensive foreign coach.
