Hey bro - have you ever been to Turkey and its beeches ? and religion of those women in Bikini there. Women in Turkey occupy key executive posts and is a living proof that a reformer can transform any country. Women during Saddam's regime had equal rights. And so also Algeria , Egypt and Lebanon. And I have met a lot of smart and articulate women from pakistan - the kinds you won't find in India. And in Afghanistan BEFORE Americans armed the mujaheddin to liberate Afghanis from Soviet rule.
So please - keep your theories to your self. We have to have reforms in India on a much faster pace before we start pointing fingers at others.

Mr Fact Speaker, Forget about all that, lets talk about simple things , you are talking about women rights, well Indians are not also very liberal when it come to women rights (sati, dowry) forget that too, if a guy is having a affair or makes love he is smart and if a girl has an affair or makes love she is a of bad character, if a guy drinks and partie late night that is fair but if a girl does the same thing again she is of bad character, valntine day shd not be calebrated in India well mate so much for freedon and being democratic..i am sure everyone here will agree and this only happens in India

I am compelled to comment .Islam has to be seen in the social context where it emerged. In those days ,the man were having unlimited number of wifes. Prophet only tried to ristrict that number by saying "you can have one ,two ,three or upto foue wife not more than that"virtullay it was a ristriction . Islam does ask to have four wifes but it ristricts it.Now what is position in Hindu religion, sorry to say as per our great religion we can have any number of wife. One wife norm is the gift of Hindu Marriage Act 1955 ,which contains lot of non-hindu practice (it ignores Kanya Daan,Gardharv Vivah, Rakhsash Vivah) etc. In islam there is atleast some liabilities in case of divorce but in Hindu religion there is none.(safe gaurd is provided thru HMA 1955). Now talk about status. Why we forget Manu Simriti, Tulsi Dass comment and also treating woman as a property in the Hindu Religion. What is Kanya Daan . As per Manu Simriti "girl is a property of a father and he is to donate it to man as wife and there after she is property of her husband" In islam woman have right in the property of the father(Duktari) but in hindu religion no such right.Let us not forgat the tradition of Satti in Hindu Society. Today what the Hindu Woman has got i9s not by virtue of the "Pro Woman Hindu Religion" but due to progressive Hindu Personal law which are at many point anti Hindu. What is required is to modify Muslim personal law to make it more human family as the old traditional law are out dated.I am no

Well sir - you are right. After all Dashrath had 4 wives as well. Draupadi had five husbands. And many of the pandavas had sown seed in every town they went to... only Lord Ram set the standard of one wife. Women's rights have more to do with education and social growth than with religion. Even in US - women in black community are treated like sex objects from childhood , raped by the boys and have high rate of teen pregnancy.

Ur writings speak of your Clossal Ignorance of the History of Science!
Dude read about Averroes (Ibn Rushd). The whole of Catholic Theology is based on writings of this great muslim scholar of the so called dark middle ages! Ronald Reagan was a personal fan of his!
Dude go do some reading!
www.muslimheritage.org is a very basic introduction to this topic.
Prince Charles, Heir to the British Monarchy in a recent public speech at Oxford University stated:
"If there is much misunderstanding in the West about the nature of Islam, there is also much ignorance about the debt our own culture and civilisation owe to the Islamic world. It is a failure, which stems, I think, from the straight-jacketing of history, which we have inherited. The medieval Islamic world, from central Asia to the shores of the Atlantic, was a world where scholars and men of learning flourished. But because we have tended to see Islam as the enemy of the West, as an alien culture, society, and system of belief, we have tended to ignore or erase its great relevance to our own history."
May Allah guide us all to the Straight Path, Aameen.

Mr Fact Speaker pls check ur facts. the number system used in existence now is the Arabic number system as against the roman one. and pls dont be ridiculous. u want to pass of barbaric customs in africa as islamic? whom are u trying to delude? urself? as for women in islam. i can say with pride that islam is the only religion which recognizes the rights of women. and before some idiots start pouring some idiotic things about purdah and other crap id like to ask them to pls study the role of women in islamic society before posting their stupid comments on hearsay and some crap which they may have read elsewhere.
