I know what you mean since I live and work in the US today. But I have worked in the IT sector in India as well and believe me its plain crazy. It not about missing family and friends..the stress is because of the insane work load the Indian IT outsourcers dump on people. Noone understands that you have a life outside of work - weekends are not weekends and every day people work late. There is no time to work out, no time to socialize. They may be getting paid well but their social life is largely limited to their colleagues at work. There should be laws to curb this/
