Honesty, ethics, and morale - all demand honorable exit. On other hand, rich players hire paid column writer and bloggers to generate favorable hype. People want performance rather than failure..
i would like to add actually he should be made a captain and young side should be given to him untile the world cup. I am sure he can get us the world cup. He can do what ranatunga did for sri lanka.
Hey guys all I can say is there is no need to tell about sachin as we all know who is he how is he play, he is the dimond for our country because of him we have won lot of matchs he is a great team player and he always play only an only for team, I am impressed coz of his confidence though ppl r blaming him he is still confident and showing ppl that what can he do...so all the best to the super hero of indian cricket...
Sachin is the best we have had in a very very long time. And if at times he comes through as being statistics-focused, what is the coach and captain doing. Why dont they send a message and tell him to change his approach. Second, what have the detractors of Sachin done till date - has anyone managed to be half as consistent as Sachin - including Mr.Tough Rahul Dravid. The best way to honour our heroes is to tell them that we love them for what they do and what they are and not for their records. Do we have the courage to be consistent and intelligent. I think not - most of us are very impulsive and worse are happy to let Sachin's contemporaries talk disparagingly about him.
I wonder what would have happended to Ricky Ponting had he been an Indian - I dont think we need to look beyond Rahul Dravid - he would have been so exhausted carrying the burden of 10 players that he would have run away from the game. People have forgotten how the great Brian Lara took a sabbatical to renew himself. Look at the battles being waged by Chanderpaul and his likes.
Let us be strong but also sympathetic - we need to tell Sachin that he means a lot to us but also remind him that the feeling was born out of his achievements, not because we loved his face or something. And let us do the same to the likes of Dhoni and Rahul Dravid - cut out all the tough man act and be more professional or get out. Most important, let us stop looking at what Ian Chappel or someone else has to say.
Yes I agree with you. This is our job to make sachin stong mentally. We are expecting more from sachin and we give him pressure.so leave Sachin alone to perform well. If he make 100 every time then what is the need of others? Finally Cricket is not a one man show,it needs team work, when Sachin is failed other has to make victory. Drawback of Indian peolpes and also Indian players is that they are expecting more and more from Sachin. So don't disturb him (specially for media),he is pride of India. He is alway greet cricketer. I wish Sachin to play at age of 58th,because I will not thinking cricket without Sachin.

Statistics don't tell the whole picture, his runs came in situations that did not matter. Sure he was a great player who made runs in the clutch for India but today he is capable of making runs only in matches against sub par oponents. It is not a question of Indians knowing how to treat their heros but it is also a question of our heros knowing when to step down gracefully. Sachin's best days are behind him, its time for him to exit gracefully and get the kudos he really deserves - Sunny Gavasker and Kapil Dev did excatly that and that is why they are still heros.

He was good, but in recent times he is struggling. Dont count the Man of Series against Bangladesh Tests, run making being difficult for the master. Certainly not retirement a must age but needs to motivate himself to put better performance. If he does not get series against England, might be he would retire from atleast one dayers. After all he is under huge pressure. Previously it was said that he fails as he under huge pressure of expectancy. Now if there is any pressure on him is of non performing, people are settling down to no big expectancy from Sachin.

Dear prem, i support and endorse your analysis and article. We should back such type of genius players or performers irrespective of whatever the field they are in.It is easy said than done,so before making any statementit is impt to oneself to be matured as for as the issue is concerned. In my opinion sachin should continue. All our support is there for him and there is lot of cricket left in him.
