WHAT IS THE PRIMARY REASON FOR ALL THIS UNREST...PUBLISHING OF FILTHY LITERATURE BY CONGIS AND THEIR SUPPORTERS IN CHRISTIAN MISSIONAIRIES ABOUT HINDUISM...THIS HAS PROVOKED HINDUS NO END...WILL YOU ACCEPT FILTHY LANGUAGE ABOUT JESUS..THERE IS NO POINT TELLING THE SAME LIES AGAIN AND AGAIN...BJP RSS BDAL CAN DO NOTHING...IF ORDINARY HINDUS DO NOT FEEL THAT THEIR ACTIONS ARE JUSTIFIED...IF YOU DO NOT SPREAD FILTH AGAINST HINDU GODS AND GODDESSES HINDUS ARE THE MOST TOLERANT PEOPLE. BUT THE WAY THE CHRISTIAN MISSIONIARIES ARE SPREADING ALL SORTS OF RUMOURS AND INDULGING IN THUGGERY TO INCITE CONVERSIONS THERE ARE BOUND TO BE MORE SUCH ACTIONS....AND THE MISSIONIARIES WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT....

oh, and u must have seen the reaction from the christians.. u didn't?? yes, cos there was none. they went to the courts to get the movie banned. they didn't burn the posters, didin't kill anyone... and there in lies our problem. kill first ask questions later. the book was published 12 yrs back, man. and did u know about it? and did the RSS and BJP know about it?? YES!! And that's why the book was taken out of publication. Why didn't they go after the writer then? they went now cos there's an election coming up. i mean, man, how many times have we fallen down to the same old trick. its the oldest trick in the book. the britishers did it the flying colours - divide and rule. has the bjp built the Ram Mandir yet? They just wanted to get to power. they could have built it after they got to power and they didn't. i mean, that's what they told they'd do once they came to power. they fingered us then, they r fingering us now. and they'll use this to come to power again. and they just might, cos we fools keep on falling for their tricks.

Well ... Lemme remind you about Da vinci Code, that was released a few years ago. Did u hear any violence. The church protested , but peacefully....

If anyone has issues, with any person or organisation , there is a court of law. Taking law into your own hands makes you a criminal or a thug. Nothing more.. So stop calling any fundamentalist , whether Hindu muslim , christian , buddhist , sikh,.... and Indian. A Fundamentalist is just a CRIMINAL.

Interesting!!
by Dire Straits on Sep 26, 2008 01:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The actual term “Hindu” first occurs as an Old Persian geographical term to identify the people who lived beyond the River Indus. However, the modern origin is derived from the Arabic texts - Al-Hind referring to 'the land of the people of modern day India' - which then got vernacularised as Hindu. One of the accepted views is that “ism” was added to “Hindu” around 1830 to denote the culture and religion of the high-caste Brahmans in contrast to other religions. Due to the wide diversity in the beliefs, practices and traditions encompassed by Hinduism, there is no universally accepted definition on who a Hindu is, or even agreement on whether Hinduism represents a religious, cultural or socio-political entity. In 1995, Chief Justice P. B. Gajendragadkar was quoted in an Indian Supreme Court ruling: "When we think of the Hindu religion, unlike other religions in the world, the Hindu religion does not claim any one prophet; it does not worship any one god; it does not subscribe to any one dogma; it does not believe in any one philosophic concept; it does not follow any one set of religious rites or performances; in fact, it does not appear to satisfy the narrow traditional features of any religion of creed. It may broadly be described as a way of life and nothing more."

Now, I am not making all this up. I got it from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu. There's more. U guys can have a look at it.

now nothing about it, bro. i just found it funny that the term "Hindu" came from an Arabic text, and by that u know what i mean, right. it doesn't even feature in the scriptures. just for general info. i am sure not everyone on this discussion board is a hindu and knows about all this stuff.

That is the beauty of hindu religion.
It has no identity. Why God should have identity? All oriental religions are original. All western originated religions teach suppression. My brother,"Dire Straits", you don't know what is religion yet? You seems to be a fanatic.

if a hindu god has no identity, then how can anyone harm it? Dear brother, "Atul Nandan", i know what relegion is and what they signify, but i can't grab this concept of one relegion being better than another or inferior to another, cos after all they all teach the same things more or less. and when did hinduisim become a religion? its been always known as way of life, a very good one at that. And no, i am not a fanatic. how did u get to that conclusion?

Dire Straits, ......you wrote......the term "Hindu" came from an Arabic text,........no it came from the name of River Sindhu and was used by the Persians (Zorashtrians) for describing those who lived in vicinity of that River. Pl read some more history before teaching the "hindus" or "non-hindus".

The RSS has also participated in relief efforts in the Indian State of Kashmir, which has been besieged by Islamic terrorism (see Terrorism in Kashmir). An RSS-affiliated NGO, Seva Bharati, has adopted 100 children, most of them Muslims, from militancy affected areas of the region to provide them education at least up to Higher Secondary level.[27] They have also taken care of many victims of the Kargil War of 1999.[28]

The RSS assisted in relief efforts quite extensively during the 2001 Gujarat earthquake. They helped rebuild villages.[29] They "earned kudos" from many varied agencies and sources for their actions.[25]

Sewa Bharati has also collaborated with several relief groups, such as the Catholics Bishops Conference of India to conduct relief operations in the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. Activities included building shelters for the victims, providing food, clothes and medical necessities.[30] They raised over one crore rupees for the effort in one week after the tsunami.[31] The RSS assisted relief efforts during the 2004 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake and the subsequent Tsunami.[32].

In 2006, RSS participated in relief efforts to provide basic necessities such as food, milk and potable water to the people of Surat, Gujarat who were affected by massive floods in the region

R.s.s does good for the people
2001 Gujarat earthquake
Literally within minutes RSS volunteers were at the scenes of distress. Across Gujarat, the (RSS) cadres were the saviours. Even as the state machinery went comatose in the first two days after the quake, the cadre-based machinery of the Sangh fanned out throughout the state. Approximately 35,000 RSS members in uniform were pressed into service."

India-Today, arguably India's most respected weekly, reported in its Feb. 12, 2001 issue that

"It is conceded by even their worst detractors that the RSS has been in the forefront of the non- official rescue and relief (operations). This has led to an upsurge of goodwill for the Sangh".
This is a long and continuous tradition with the RSS. The RSS was instrumental in relief efforts after the 1971 Orissa Cyclone and the 1977 Andhra Pradesh Cyclone.

Khushwant Singh credits members of the RSS with helping and protecting Sikhs who were being targeted by members of the Congress(I) political party during the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots.[26] He said:

"It was the Congress(I) leaders who instigated mobs in 1984 and got more than 3000 people killed. I must give due credit to RSS and the BJP for showing courage and protecting helpless Sikhs during those difficult days”

hinduism does not require any certificates from any other religion. Infact, this is the only religion which does not have the founder.

There are many fools in the world and when an intelligent mingles with the fools, he will be considered a fool by the intelligent fools.

Ignore and follow the wise saying. Know yourself and then go beyond it.

This is the only religion which will survive for ever irrespective of many hurdles faced in the past and present.
