Method is as follows - 1. In a quiet surrounding, place the image of lord Ganesh in front of you. 2. Sit in upright posture on ground or on a chair. 3 Light in the room must be dimly focussed on Ganesha. 4. Take very long breathings till the time you totally calm down mentally & all other thoughts are removed. 5 Take long breathing & imagine the divine rays are coming from Ganesha & entering your body with every IN-Breathing. During OUT-Breathing recite "Om Namoh Bhagwate Shi Ganesh Devay". 6. Initial few days may go in practicing it, but surely after sixth day benifits begin to appear. 7. Benifits are - Calm mind, cool composure, Better health & above all prosperity of all kind. 8. This is an invitation for even those who dont believe in Ganesha, try it & see the difference. Jai Ganesha

The same way that a man dead long ago is held so closely that people are ready to kill in his name

You are right about some very few misguided elements & respect that. I am not bashing any one & I never criticised any philosopher/prophet etc. In fact you have tried to doubt my faith in Ganesha. If it does not suite you, I have no problems. But remember that there are millions of followers of Ganesha & who are hurt to see people posting abusive comments
Divine law is "Things that are born, are bound to die", like animals, trees, humans etc. This is also true about groups, cults, sects formed by one man's philosophy, because sooner or later it gets outdated & irrelevant. However, Hunduism has emerged alongwith the creation of this universe & is therefore Sanatam (without begining & without end). Hence the worshipers of Ganesha (or other Dieties) are trully worshiping the eternity which is the true nature of God. Jai Ganesh

Whatever I write is my own creation. Dont doubt me & I suggest dont doubt yourself also
ground for communal violence. I guess rediff gets great clicks through such columns. It would have been preferable if rediff didn't have any discussion columns for religious articles.
Every zealot, atheist, and idiot belonging to religions like christianity and islam are here to bash Hindus and Hinduism.
I guess they derive great kicks out of this. Wonder if this is the kind of teaching that's preached by their religions. They are only asking for violence and want to be bashed by Hindus.
Well... what else can you expect of people who follow a man who'd been nailed to death, calling his followers misguided souls and another who believes in child sex....
One has been right about his followers being misguided souls.... The followers of the other religion are ruthless like the man they follow... So, we can expect only ruthlessness and idiotic behaviour from such people.

Dont be disheartened. Those who malign others will be perished sooner or later. "Atithi Devo Bhava' is the norm of Hinduism which every child is tought. Respect others & honour thier believes. Some people, however are tought a philosophy of 'force by sword'. Remember "those who live by sword, die by sword". Keep your faith in Ganesha & ignore the ignorants, happiness & prosperity will follow you. Jai Ganesh
