Wow the politicians must be ejaculating with pleasure. Why? The PM has just announced a package of 1010 crore rupees for "helping" Bihar victims.. We all know where the money will go ultimately. The poor people who lost their entire livelihood, houses and in some cases close relatives will become further poor may become bonded labour and be abused by the rich further. Mr.Prime Minister before announcing such a grandoise amount as relief did you bother to check whether an honest mechanism is in place to distribute this relief. We have seeen several times in the past the money being swallowed by greedy polticians and their supporters...There is still time Mr.Prime Minister ...ensure that the relief goes to the poor....ram
when all these blasts took place what is the response of indian govt. nothing....things just go on. is it because india has lots of people and if some 100 die....what the hell ?
is it the same anywhere else? it can happen only in india :)

Wow..the Politicians must be ejaculating with pleasure at the Rupees One thousand and ten crore "relief" announced by the Prime Minister. They must be licking thier lips at the juicy amounts that is going to go into their pocket. Mr.Prime Minister before announcing this package did you bother to check whether there is any honest mechanism in Bihar to distirbute this amount to the poor in a honest and systematic manner. I pray to God that atleast a fraction of this amount goes to the really need in Bihar.....ram
I don't think Hindi speaking states, and particularly Bihar have any future left in India. We must walk out of India before it is too late. India is a corrupt and inefficient country with no future at all. Why do we want to be associated with a nation without any future?

That is the funniest post. There are only 2 possibilities: 1. you are non-Indian. In that case keep your nose out of what is non of your business 2.If you are indeed Indian and a Bihari let me point out, you really bring nothing to Union of India. You are backward and have done nothing to reform your state or uplift the poor. You keep your state backward and a stone around the neck of other states. I suggest you first work at social reform. Empower the poor and downtrodden. You have to help yourself first

Huh! with so many intellectuals including BUDDHA born in this great State - but with many corrupt politicians - came back to dog-state where people now don't get enough food to eat - let GOD save this state in INDIA.
Firstly, anticipations dont work with the rulers! Next, they have not done anything for 'flood control' after 61 yeras of independence! AND THEY WANT VOTES FOR REMAINING IN POWER TO 'LOOT PUBLIC MONEY" Why vote seekers of parties who ruled for a long time, wont be slapped next time?
I know there are lot of answer to solution of Bihar which is suffering from this perinial problem of floods every year .I thing my suggestion may be taken care by the authorities . Bihar is really obsessed with flood every year and the only reason why this rich state is unable to develop .The only solutions to avoid flood is to make more and more check dam in each village apart from connecting all the major river passing throwgh Bihar with minor channels .For the beginning Gov with Private participation should build two storied shelter cum community hall in each village so that people can save their life at least .This big shelters can be converted to market place for the peasant and local traders to sell their products when there is no floods .I think the political will of present cherismatic CM Nitishji will focus on this subject which I am mentioning to this forum .abboral@gmail.com

Felt really nice to read your practical suggestions. Hope the Govt. does act upon them especially the two storeyed structure in each village. Its a scheme that can work....ram
We Indians are always assuming and take things for granted. Probably the Biharis were caught unaware of this sunami like tragedy. On top of that dirty politics and politicians are there to worsen the matter.
The issues is not the work but the attitude of the people...when we see things going wrong we all start blaming one another for the things, but what happens is that we forget about things went wrong when they get back to normal. We forget that things can go wrong again, if nothing concrete done in right time, we forget that things can happen to us as well.
Wile lack of governance is prevelant everywhere, it is also duty of the citizens to take a note of things going wrong and ask tough questions to the law makers about it. Until we take active participations in the process..Sab chalta hai..yaha to aisa hi hota hai..yaha ka kuch nahi ho sakta..this attitude has got us in the mess we are at.
From the childhood we are tought to not ask questions to the elders, and that has developed a mindset that people above us are unquestionable, and we have no rights to ask about why???
We have to change this, we need to create a society where people are free to ask questions, and have the right to get the answers and this has to started from the home, from the neighbors, from the organizations...and asking questions should not be taken as questions to authority..it should be taken as just the question to know more.

Beautifully written...its just our negative mindset and attitude that has to do with all the miseries that we encounter in our everyday life. Most ppl are ignorant of the fact that our primary school is our home and we learn from our family, from our elders from our neighbnours and from the entire surroundings!!! Upbringing @ home is the dominant factor that attributes to attitude!!

What Mr.Nitish and Lalakrishna is doing? They should take thier Rathayatra in Boats in Bihar instead of wondering here and there.
