Ignorant temple priests
by Anand Iyer on Jun 04, 2007 07:00 PM  Permalink

In the temple of Lord Krishna, these guys have acted ibn violation of his teachings in Gita. Further, they have rejected authoritative interpretrations of Vyasa who is also said to be incarnation of Lord Vishnu. These guys need purification not the temple. Let them purify their own minds and hearts.

Superstitions and stupid beliefs
by Mahakavi jollydoss on Jun 04, 2007 06:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

They worship idols, demons, monkeys and all types of animals. They called themselves living gods and everyone believed in that crap till an invader arrived and put them to the sword and took their gold. That stopped the living gods claim, but the devilish brahmins still have such a hold on low castes that they live their entire lives with the stupid, insane belief that if only they suffer through the ignominies they will be reborn as brahmins. What the hell can the world do with this kind of bull crap. How stupid is this Union minister who talks as if his belief in astrology is like a virtue. India needs ten thousand Mahmud of Ghaznis now to be reformed properly.

Come out with your real name, coward.

The damn sword of Ghazni, the tyranny of the mughals, or the guns of the British, the dutch, the portugese and the french all put together could not kill the Hindu culture.

Certain religious groups feel threatened for their existance at the drop of a hat.

Yes India needs Mahmud of Ghazni to rape your women and put then in his harem or giev them to his subordinates to continue the raping, looting, destruction and killing spree.

Who says living gods claim is over? It was there, it is there and will be there. It is the other faiths that come and bury under the dust.

Hindus should unite to fight bad practices!
by R. Bhaskar on Jun 04, 2007 06:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Only us the orrdinary Hindus can fight this injustice and rotten practices. We can all send pitition to the Guruvayyur temple and any other temple that discriminates against any practicing Hindu irrespective what he was born as. There has to be movemnet that will change this otherwise we Hindus will be the minority in India.

It is nonsense on the part of priest to observe purification ceremony in the temple because of a hindu untouchable entering in the temple. It is agonozing fact to witness such foolish thing in the twenty first century.World has progressed in all fields but the mind set of some abject priests and brahmins. Will God ,the all merciful be angry if some untouchables or non-believers will come to have his presence.? All progressive minded hindus should fight this injustice to keep the fabric of Hindu society otherwise the Hindu religion will see disintegration.

There are three wrong points in this Article.
by Rohit on Jun 04, 2007 06:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The first one is saying Nair and Namboodthiri, both aare matriarchal, which is not the case. Namboothiri, the Kerala Brahmin follows Patriarchism.

The second one is saying Guruvayoorappan is an avatar of Lord Krishna. He is not considered as avtar of Krishna, but Krishna himself, more specifically Krishna as an infant.

And the third is Ravi saying the whole issue is because he is of backward caste Ezhava. The issue was his wife being Christian and Hindu Temples in Keral does'nt allow non hindus to enter temple premises.
So his son was not considered a Hindu because his mother was Christian.

As per Indian regulations if Father of the family is Hindu then the whole family is Hindu. It's the same in all religion.

Ex. Rajiv Gandhi's family.

God is common to everyone.

In Hindus a child takes his Father's caste, surname and religion. So Valayar Ravi's children are Hindus like him. Praise his wife to raise her kids as Hindus. And I doubt God discrimintes against anyone.

IF HE IS A BELIEVER HE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO ENTER
by ramesh bhai on Jun 04, 2007 06:55 PM  Permalink

If Mr Vayalar Ravi and his family truely believe in Guruvayurappan, then they should be allowed to enter the temple and pray. Even non-hindus if they believe in Guruvayurappan should be allowed to enter the temple. But they should follow the rules and regulations of the temple very strictly. I don't think lord Krishna will have any objection if non-hindus enter the temple to pray him. This is a golden opportunity to show our broad mindedness to the whole world. so please amend the existing rules and allow all believers to enter the temple. All believers of Lord Krishna should discuss this matter (keep away political leaders from this issue as they will try to fish from the troubled water) and reach an agreement at the earliest so that all believers irrespective of their caste and religion can enter the temple and pray without any fear.

Nope. The Bhagvad Gita deals with four "classes" based on qualities and deeds. This birth-based caste is the creation of Manu in his book Manu Smriti. It starts off by saying taht sages went to Manu for wisdom. It does not mention the names of these sages. Who were these fake sages who went to this Manu fake for fake wisdom when real wisdom of Gita was available????

Caste system is not the product of RSS/VHP alone. It is there in all religions. In Guy. temple if a kid urinates inside temple punyaham is conductedat the expence of the parents. But here who spent for this. If ordinary people were involved this much of publicity may not be there. Because a union Minister is involved so much publicity. Because it involves a Union Minister Kerala CM also involved in this . This is the wworld. It is better not to give importance if it is a VIP involved case as media can blow it out of proportion

Hinduism and enter a temple
by Sagar Singh on Jun 04, 2007 06:52 PM  Permalink

Hinduism preaches that body is the temple and the soul is Shiva. But, in practice, they follow kind of ill acts like this. What is the problem if Cristian enters the temple(even if he follows all rituals to enter temple. For some one who does not know about this temple, one has to wear Dhoti and remove shirt and can wear a shawl on top). Untouchbility still exists in India, especially at places like this. This is problem of some of the Brahmins who mostly believe in rituals than sprituality, the real backward people(but not meant for reservations !!).
