The Thantri should be interviewed in Television and ask about his feeling.Thantri daily taking rice which is planted and harvested by Mr,Ravi's caste peoples.Thantri daily smearing sandanam which is churned by Lower caste peoples.Thantri wearing Angavastram which is weaved by other caste peoples.Thantri daily drinking milk which is extacted by lower caste peoples.Thantri living in the house constructed by other caste peoples.Thantri applying sandanam and worshiping Guruvayur Krishna which was made by other caste people. Then what for is there in temple.Thantri is not knowing the truth of Sri Sathya Sai Baba"The hand that serve for others are holier than the lips that pray for oneself

Iwish this happens soon this 84 year old mron should be ridden for good.
So... Mandir is literally god%u2019s palace; it is built according to shastric specifications, and once the images are consecrated it means the gods have accepted the invitation to reside in the respective temples. This is what gave temples their power and sanctity in all ancient traditions.
Temple entry cannot be a secular right of non-believers. It is a privilege of the believer, and that is why truly reform-minded Hindus in previous centuries fought for the right of underprivileged believers. like Harijans (Dalits), to enter temples. This is an issue to which Hindu society urgently needs to rededicate itself.

If you believe in God - atleast believe that God is beyond religions.
It should be left to the non-believer to make the decision of not entering a place of worship%u2026 and not the other way around%u2026

@sanjay...
For starters, those who say "our god is true, your god is false" aren't the harbingers of any religion....let alone Christianity. There are betters harbingers for most religions. Look at them....not at some missionary who says ...."Our god is true, your god is false".....
Despite the troubled history of America, USA is by far the best place to live in terms of commitment to its citizens of various faiths in enforcing Law&Order for all. The fact that Hinduism has grown the most in USA outside of India, is testament to that.

You need to see your torn dosa instead of counting the holes in others dosa.
First try to fix up your mind. Its the people in india who break up hindus and divide among yourselves. Not christians.
Non of the christians want people who talk filth or call others as lesser humans. Everyman is equal under the creator. When you being a learnt human be so stupid why wont the country go to dogs.

We all know the message of love Christianity gave to Red Indians, African Blacks and aboriginies of Australia. Same love you have for Hindus. This is the same message the brahmanas gave the dalits when they took away every thing from them!
RE:Why do Christians have to say about Crusades?

When will y ou learn that history is past tense. Its like asking germans to tell why hitler killed so many jews. Give a answer to that.
Be sensible and try to see the good points in christianity. And also Roman catholic church does not follow what christianity follows. They drink, ,smoke, indulge in all the sins that the bible condemns.
The crusades were run by the catholic church which is not true christian representation. Sadly!
RE:what happened to Hindus during Portuguese rule in Goa?
by eagle on Jun 05, 2007 12:11 AM Permalink
They were portugese and not christians. If you want to truely know more about christianity. Dont go to the past and dont talk to a roman catholic.
The Roman catholics are a shame to being representing christianity. They have never condemned drinking. And Bible condemns drinking as in drinking alcohol to get drunk.
If goa is a representation of christianity. Its a shame that they drink and do all kinds of sin that the BIBLE condemns. If you see the nudists camps in Goa that is not the representation of Christianity, it is the representation of non-christians.
I think most people write their views not to express them but to target certain groups. I would say that it was political arrogance of Mr. Ravi to call the act of the Thantri as brahminical arrogance. He should know that most educated brahmins will support his right to enter the temple. However, instead of trying to get political mileage out of this incident, he should have personally talked to the Thantri and behaved more diplomatically. All matters of faith must be dealt with some diplomacy. Lack of diplomacy on the part of Mr. Sudhakaran and his ilk has allowed many a situation degenerate unnecessary and avoidable debates. Calling each other names will not solve any problems. Persuasive talk will. I feel the priests would have been more thoughtful in pronouncing their decision, had the other point of view been persuasively conveyed to them. Instead, the political class chose the path of confrontation.
Hindus need to change with the time and embrace all believers of Sanantana Dharma irrespective of their caste or nationality. I hope the scholars among the Brahmin community wake up to this fact and take timely action to educate the priestly class.
Punyaha vachana is done to remove negative energy in the environment. Negative energy is released by evil spirits / men and not by believers. What a paradox that the God who creates us all is sought to be imprisoned by a few people.

there is no need of intermediater to pray the GOD., if you realy believe in GOD. God existed prior to human being originated in this earth. all the caste and religions created gods not more than 10000years ago. so who knows what the god really need. we all equal. pray our own wish, direct to god at home itself

Dear Bhaskar, Minister Ravi, by his own admission, is a believer. What right do others have to question his assetion? His son came to the temple to make a religious offering. Where is the need to challenge this fact?
Understand one thing. Just don't say at the peak your voice that Dalit's should be made priests of the hindu temple. Yes I guess they can be made provided if they follow the brahmin principles/studied and understood the mantra's and undergo tutelage under some guru and above all the general habits like being a Vegeterian and stuff like that etc.. You just can't enter the ISRO and start working as a scientist.
