Punyaham

I think most people write their views not to express them but to target certain groups. I would say that it was political arrogance of Mr. Ravi to call the act of the Thantri as brahminical arrogance. He should know that most educated brahmins will support his right to enter the temple. However, instead of trying to get political mileage out of this incident, he should have personally talked to the Thantri and behaved more diplomatically. All matters of faith must be dealt with some diplomacy. Lack of diplomacy on the part of Mr. Sudhakaran and his ilk has allowed many a situation degenerate unnecessary and avoidable debates. Calling each other names will not solve any problems. Persuasive talk will. I feel the priests would have been more thoughtful in pronouncing their decision, had the other point of view been persuasively conveyed to them. Instead, the political class chose the path of confrontation.

Hindus need to change with the time and embrace all believers of Sanantana Dharma irrespective of their caste or nationality. I hope the scholars among the Brahmin community wake up to this fact and take timely action to educate the priestly class.

Punyaha vachana is done to remove negative energy in the environment. Negative energy is released by evil spirits / men and not by believers. What a paradox that the God who creates us all is sought to be imprisoned by a few people.
