This discussion board has just become a minority bashing platform for a few communal minded fellows. For them only Hindus are the rightful citizens of India and all others are devoid of any rights. They have stereotyped all minorities as terrorists and fundamentalists.
Infact such a division has only been a result of divisive society propagated by some upper class urban hindus. A handful of them think that they are the leaders of the nation. They cannot think about anybody from minorities and oppresed classes getting his rightful due. They do not hesitate to call them names like Mulla, Katua, Sardar, Chamar no matter how dignified and cultured that person may be.
Come on fellows. Think like Indians. In my overseas trips, I have always given the example of India as a diverse and tolerant nation, where the minorities are holding highest positions in the government irrespective of their numbers.
As far as Dr. Haneef is concerned, Bangalore police has denied giving any dossier to Australian authorties and have clarified that no links have been found with radical organisations.
I hope sanity will prevail in Indian public and they would try to think rationally and objectivly without blasting any community.

If someone speaks against someone BECAUSE they happen to be Muslim, that is COMMUNALISM, by definition.
Even someone of your limitations should understand that.
arre Pavan Babu, Dont you know that if you write and speak of our own religion you are a branded as a radical. If you criticize you are fundamentalist, if you take it to higher level you are advanite, the latest highest level presently is Modite. Evvanni telusukoni, do what you think is good for the community.

And by making a sweeping generalization how are you any better than those you criticize (rightly)
Further if you are being really balanced you must also remember that a lot of people from so called minority community are doing far more than a few people who tom tom hate on behalf of majority.
Most people are trying to have a sane discussion which is derailed by these fanatics.

Because we won even without going to war; the Paki's shat in their pants and started withdrawing terrorists.
You want me to open my mouth take this on your sikhs and tell me if I am wrong
1. Its Indira Gandhi who started the policy of appeasement for you guys. She has recruited all your sikhs even without looking into the credentials. The result 60% of the forcer are/ were sikhs at the cost of merit and others job chances.
2. Next started the Green Revolution with all the Tax Payers money being pumped into the Punjab. You people become rich and contentful after this.
3. After attaining the richness you people started to migrate to the west and east. You have noticed that in the democratic foreign lands you have continued your pagdis. Cus of that you have your separte Identity.
Then started real trouble now you have an Inernational identity, now the evil crept in your minds of separate homeland.
Then your rich and fat sikhs gave a call for Khalistan. You wanted 1/4 of India for this. You have fostered friendship with people who were responsible for creation of your cult.
I want tell you that this is all cus we are soft ???

We can't expect a sane discussion from people who have blindfolds of communalism on their eyes. We have people who take discussions to personal levels involving one's religion, caste etc.
You need to analyse your own contribution to the nation before questioning others. Let me give you an example. There was time when the percentage of sikhs in Indian army was much more than that is today.
I remember the times in Punjab when the entire class in degree colleges used to appear for CDS exams. Such was the desire to serve the nation. Is it the same everywhere in India?
They did not join army as a job. It was a committment to the nation. And tell me is guarding the borders so easy? Today army is not able to attract good talent and is advertising.
All those who love bashing minorities, I have one question. Tell me how your contribution to India is more than those from minorities.
India is not just for Hindus. It belongs to all communities.

Dear Amandeep, U have been doing a fantastic job of projecting that image of India overseas. There should be more people like you who should think of us as Indians rather than separate on religious or any other ideology. We were found a tolerant and secular nation. This ploy of divide and rule is a favorite of all rulers, let it be British who ruled us once or now our own Polity who don't leave a chance to make us fight amongst ourselves. If he is guilty he will get his due, if not whatever happened to giving a person a benefit of doubt.

Well said Sanjiv! It is amazing that out of our geographical boundaries we become gregarious and friendly with all communities but within our own country we become so narrow minded that we judge people on their origin.
Excerpts from the 'The Australian' newspaper. 1 aug 07
Dr Mohammed Asif Ali, 26, was yesterday suspended on full pay from the Gold Coast Hospital after the Australian Federal Police (AFP) suggested Queensland Health further investigate his background.
Dr Ali was earlier this month interrogated over his relationship with another Indian doctor, Mohamed Haneef, who was charged with terrorism related offences, which were later dropped.
"It's alleged that he was in possession of false hospital stamps, that he embellished his qualifications in his attempt to gain employment here in Australia," he said.
This may be the wire just wait till they open the cupboards much more will tumble out. Those who supported him will bite their tongues including SL Womanmohan Singh, HMV.

Major Sassy, Now you tell me why it will happen to we majority, we haven't done anything wrong? Who's fault is it? Don't talk about Aussie administration, they are following their protocol. Nowadays, we majority people are also stared at suspiciously by other nationals. Think about it...

I agree with you but a avg Aussie/west inspector will suspect all Indians now. He does not have the magical solution to know who is or who is not a terrorist. After all Indians look the same to him right? They have to make sure

The Aussies will grill Ali's butt like Sheesh Kebab and soon the truth will come out. Obviously, he is guilty of more crimes and soon his friend will also be exposed.
Marking all sensible messages which point facts as abuse and using the worst possible language against the folks who refuse to cow down and posts which are not blocked.

Yes I was (maybe am) in the army. My age is of no consequence.
I wonder how this bloke qualified to be doctor. He strutts ans stammers while speaking in English to the media. He was mentioning during the interview, that the Ausie govt. should apologize to 'peace living India';Was he meaning peace loving India? His lawer and cousin were coming to his rescue whenever he was goping for words! May be they did not want him to let the cat out of the bag?!

The byproducts and maladies of reservation system is now coming under scrutiny, these are wonderful students, being funded by the state government.
The only bright spot in the whole sordid episode is these educated fanatics, leave the country and do mischief in some other country.
Now, the Aussies have created a real security threat by deporting this fundamentalist, now its India's headache how to get their internal security in order.
At the end of the day the Australian zero tolerance policy is good at least it guarantees its citizens security.
