Do something!!!
by Niranjan on Jul 13, 2006 07:14 AM  Permalink

Author 100% correct, India not done enough or not done anything. The politicians of this boneless country just speak 'Strict action will be taken those whose responsible' how many times we have to listen same words with no action???.
Why Dawood is not captured or killed after 13 years, why can't declare wanted dead or alive as Bush did for Osama, why can't to form death squad for search and kill terrorist wherever there on the earth as Israel does. Unless we have power and determination to face terrorist we cannot become economic superpower or protect our booming economy.

Every such attack will further alienate hindus and muslims, that is bad to country. Before fundamentalist/terrorist spoil all muslims save our great country.

Will this happen again?
by jeff on Jul 13, 2006 06:46 AM  Permalink

NONE of this terrorist acts can happen without significant local support.

When one aids these murderers, directly or indirectly, one is as culpable as the perpetrators of the crime.

The fact that this has happened again and again shows that we have not rooted out these criminals and that they are being protected by our own countrymen/women.

Whatever logic makes these people work, it is clear that they have no love for the nation or any fellow human beings

Sai, as a person whose writings are read by an enormous number of people, when you systematically undermine actions by a strong leader such as Advani, you are also responsible for weakening the defense that this nation has. Only when it hits close to you do you realize that the monster that you are protecting will not spare you or your loved ones either.

So,for Sai and others reading this,if you really love your nation, its freedoms, then think about how you can help in small ways, starting from thinking less about just yourself and more of the big picture.

Without this, the terorists or more aptly, the enemies of a free society will continue to prey on innocent people and destroy India.

Dear Friend,

One thing you have to realize that Indian Govt. will not do anything - be it Congress, BJP or any damn party...these guys can't do anything

And, on the other hand we cannot force them to do..as these buggers are not dying

You forget about USA..three soldiers of Israel are kidnapped and they have launced strikes on Palest and Leb....so you forget about OUR guys

But, we can do one thing - lets start a signing campaign (people who support striking terror camps around India) on-line, atleast we will take our frustation out!!!

The United States behaviour after 9/11 is nothing to be proud of and

least of all to be emulated by others! It made mockery of the United

Nations and it was not done for the greater good of eliminating a

terrorist stronghold . Ask any american who has a family member

serving or dead in iraq. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind. I do

believe that India should adopt a more aggressive stand against

terrosists (not escort them back to kandahar for a change) but going to

war is not going to solve anything.

Enough is Enough!
by Deepika on Jul 13, 2006 06:19 AM  Permalink

Things never change unless the people change their attitudes. Yes resilience is applaudable but it is also a way of life rather than choice. Most don't have a choice than to continue with life the way it is.
A radical change is required in the psyche of the common man in India. Stand up for yourself. Demand answers. Make the Government work for you. Don't complain. Don't shrug it off. Don't forget. and don't let them forget! Work to put a system in place.
You cannot stand in the war zone and cry peace. The effort and the times for peace negotiations have already ceased when you face a war. This is what the US realizes.
As for communal seperations, I would really welcome a statement from the Maulavi's and Pandits and well known religious outfits openly OSTRACIZING the terrorists. Not just criticizing. Ostracizing. That is the only way they can pronounce their allegiance to co-existence and exhibit their sincerity to the cause. Believe it or not, their stand influences huge sections of their communities. Unfortunately, not a word!

I also have a similar view
by shiva shankar l on Jul 13, 2006 06:17 AM  Permalink

Hai,

Saisuresh

I am very much impressed by your article, I also have a similar view in this regard.
Its time for India to retaliate to those evil powers. India should take actions against the terrorist camps in the POK region and reoccupy POK so in future such illegal activities may be avoided to some extent otherwise this terrorist industry grows and grows. But we never hear this retaliation words from our government the maximum what they can do is to condemn the attack and assure compensation to the victims.

Thanking you

Shiva

Re:Enough is Enough - Yes. But your approach is wrong
by K.Ganeshan on Jul 13, 2006 06:09 AM  Permalink

Yes. All of us are livid with anger at this heinous act. Al of us are angry with our governement for not solving these problems. But , a democratic government is a true reflection of it's people . So, whatever governement , be it UPA or NDA government, is doing, is what large majority of us would have done when caught in a analogous situation in our private lives. That is our Indian/Hindu mentality.

The American/Israeli method of dealing terror with terror is wrong. That is the very reason why terrorism is still alive in the world. America is a bigger terrorist than any other brand of terrorism. Yes, there may not have been any terror attacks on USA, but what about all other bombings across the world. Are they not expression of disgust against America? Just because you are stronger than anybody else, you should not bully around every one. Sooner or later somebody is gooing to grow big and slap you in the face. The bomb blasts in Mumbai are synonymous to this. It is only that anger on USA is being turned on us.

Terror begets terror. Let us understand that first. Let us solve the underlying problems which are the root cause. Then terrorism will vanish by itself.
