no respect for democracy, only dictatorship
by mohit on Jul 06, 2006 07:40 PM  Permalink

i some times feel that we are not living in domocracy. we are in a dictator ship where gandhi family is king and their daughter/sons grandsons/daughters are princes.
same way a. ramdoss is health minister only because he is son of PMK leader and dont have any mass support or any special achievement except being son of a leader of a castiest party PMK.

I think that Government should Sack the minister otherwise we as people should sack the government soon. Its just not this reason, but politics has reached its epitome of dirt and its high time we as informed citizens clearly let the politicians know that Action speaks better than words.

health minister & others of his ilk
by deepak on Jul 06, 2006 07:11 PM  Permalink

sometime I hv a feeling tht many of our elected members are the agents of some enemy of our country & are bent on destroying this country from within.

If our enemies show some paitience, some of our own elected members & to some extent our bureaucracy will destroy the country without them (enemies)shedding a drop of blood.

AIIMS has been wounded
by K. Balakrishnan on Jul 06, 2006 07:05 PM  Permalink

India is supposed to be a democratic country. But we all around that autocracy is being practised. When illitterate become ministers, they get feeling that they are Rajas and Raja can never do a wrong. Ministers like Health Minister should be sent to the nearest lunatic asylum because his actions are beyond reason. A renowned doctor like Venugopal has been asked to wait outside the meeting room like a peon. Is it not arrogance? Where is the place for an arrogant minister in democracy? It is high time that we bring radical changes to our electoral system so that the misfits are not allowed to get into the system of democracy. Dr. Venugopal should be reinstated and the minister be sacked immediately.

The court
by Joger on Jul 06, 2006 07:00 PM  Permalink

The author had said, "As I said, I loathe strikes.
But what answer would you give should the doctors,
the nurses, and even the karamcharis of the All-India
Institute of Medical Sciences ask you for an
alternative route, when they have seen that even the
prime minister is helpless?"

For that we have judiciary and diplomats. Strikes
should be the last way.

This is a spineless government, and a bully...

The very act of dismissing talent, to give education and jobs to the meritless reeks of Nehruvian politics.

Sad Sad UPA......

Mr. Bob is AIIMS your fatther's or Anbu's property that Anbu can take unilateral action. Is that for every misdemenour one has to wait for the courts to decide. If so why do we require these ministers who spend lakhs and lakhs of tax payers money without any responsibility towards their actions. If SC decides that Anbu was wrong would he retire from politics ar does nay one have power to sack him. You must be crazy and a big fool to not oppose the action of the minister and rather call others names for doing so.

Why people like you Mr. Bob, wanted to be slapped twice? Already HC has slapped Ramdoss' decision and SC will do the same. Infact court understands that AIIMS is nobody's father's property and should be run the way it is being for these many years. The way Ramdoss appointed himself in committee, put his own chamchas will reveal in front of court. After all Arun Jaitley is fighting for Dr. Venu.

Congress is party of Rajas
by Ankur on Jul 06, 2006 06:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This will always happen under Congress because they are party of rajas who believe in dynasties like Gandhi and suppress free expression and freedom shown by AIIMS director. One congress minister after another has brought shame to our country.

RE: Ramdoss deserves to be sacked
by Secular on Jul 10, 2006 10:44 PM  Permalink
This refers to the msg from Bob.
Tt appears that he is a blind supporter of the guilty Ramdoss and cannot see any logic or reason behind the troubles at AIIMS.

It is now crystal clear that the real Villain is Ramdoss and he is solely responsible for all these mess in the campus and the resultant loss of Doctor-days,the sufferings of the Public, tragic loss of a few critical patients, and huge financial losses.

It is also a pity that the present Govt is silent over such a furore and has not taken any action against the guilty Ramdoss, who shd be sacked immediately and perhaps he shd be prosecuted for loss of patient's life.

AIIMS director was not GOD sent. He was appointed by the government and he by all means needs to abide by what the Govt says. AIIMS is not Dr.Venugopal's Family property to show his freedom of expression. He has to do everything within the terms under which he was appointed. I'm not supporting his dismissal nor reinstating him. It is in the court and they will decide. Readers by saying WE ALL ARE WITH YOU doesn't mean anything or will not do any good for Dr.Venugopal. You all wouldn't leave your job and go strike for him or go behind him like Millions did for Gandhi. Don't waste your words. The court will decide.

Our weekly news compiler (TVR Shenoy) has a question which is "Can anyone tell me why on earth Anbumani Ramadoss went out of his way to sack Dr Venugopal precisely when the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences staff were already feeling bitter and betrayed?"

Supreme Court will tell you . You didn't have to compile the news and call it an article and ask the readers that question.

Shame on you to call you a writer.
