Another puerile piece from the pinko author. Naxalite movement was indeed indigenous, but is now vastly supported by communits and leftist organizations with a vested interest against India and her people. Apologists for the Maoists should be condemned without reserve.

Absolute communist non sense
by Keerthivasan on May 07, 2005 09:05 AM  Permalink

Very illogical written baised article. I wonder why rediff is having these kind of communist propaganda writers as commentators.

The author himself say that there is 1700 km border with Nepal, then says maoist won't infiltrate or help naxalites in India. Great logic!!

Biased reporting
by venkat on May 07, 2005 12:53 AM  Permalink

Would this leftist author propogate the same with Musharaaf? How many of the so called experts asked Indian govt. to isolate Musharaaf for the genocide in Kashmir? Strangely, their standards vary if it is Pakistan.

Unaware of ground realities!
by akt on May 06, 2005 11:15 PM  Permalink

This is a clear case of a writer who is absolutely unaware of the ground realities in Nepal. Mr. Bidwai seems to have his own agenda of promoting leftist ideology and even downplays the atrocities of Naxalites! Maoists in Nepal are an expanded version of Naxalites in India. I wonder how he would react if whole India was facing Naxalite issue (not one or two Indian states).

As a matter of fact -people are fed up with Maoists insurgency in Nepal. They have been waiting for someone to take a strong action, and the king has rightly done so. Nepalese in general are extremely happy with his decision except a bunch of politicians, who have misruled the country over a decade. Arm chair intellectuals such as Mr. Bidwai can never appreciate the improving situation in Nepal. One just needs to visit government office anywhere in Nepal to see the results firsthand.

This comment is from someone like me who was grown up in Nepal and felt sad to watch situation going from bad to worse, day by day.

Prafull biwai's article on Nepal
by Nanda on May 06, 2005 01:58 PM  Permalink

The article is silly and doesnt even deems comments. I fail to understand what pains Mr. Praful if india helps Pakistan.
Nepal has never in its history picked up any BSF dragged into its border and killed our BSF Personnel.

It has never waged kargill kind of war.

It is quite natural that we help the country. What ever is happening in that country is the internal matter of that Country.

Moists and naxalites are common enemies of both the country. They are commiting heinous murders in both the country. When India is helping country in containing the common enemy how should it pain Mr. Bidwai. I get a doubt if Mr. Bidwai is sympathiser of of Naxalites and Moisits and thier crimes.

I suggest likes of Bidwai concentrate on the human right viloations committed by Naxalites , Moists, the terrorists in Kashmir and else where in India. Human rights violation by Pakistan army, Banglasesh BDR and the problems faced by minorities i.e Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh, Human rights violation committed by Pakistan and Bangladesh on the minorities over there.

Hope good sense prevail to Mr Praful Bidwai and he would start using his energies for the good of the country.

Yeah, this article looks so biased. Saying Nepali Maoists won't infiltrate India and won't aggravate the naxalite problem here is a joke really.

you are right.if the US administration sees this then the writer Mr.Praful Bidawi a brand commie will not be given visitor visa to that country.but then there is nothing in Russia now for these people to get.forget china as they are busy now being the blue- eyed boys of USA and why not when thier communist idealogy has failed them miserably and they are now in a era of ( though controlled) of a capitalistic future.as its leaves behind its ugly communist past so will be the progress of that country and there is no doubt that it will be the most advanced and prosperous country as it evolves out of its time tested but failed idealogy.its strange that even sensible media and the columnists do fail to understand that the naxalite movement now in india is nothing but a union of ex-tradeunionists who have no income and want to live by any means, like killing, bomb blasting mine sweeping and extortion of say the planters and landlords.the communists are more dangerous than the communalists for india.these people have been enjoying the patronage from outside the country and now that thier masters shops are closing they are worried.india should go ahead with helping Nepal without worrying
