Vested Interest - Why Mamta cannot back out !
by allen on Aug 27, 2008 08:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mamta is actually representing a lobby of vested interest . They have the sole intention of staling the Nano Launch . Mamata is sponsered by Bajaj for two reasons , they are also launching a similar low cost car , more delay would put them in a better position in the market ???????? also the motorcycle lobby is trying very hard to stall the process. Mamta has taken money and cannot back out.

Her moslem-votebank does not like a parsee Tata's car-plant should function in WB, when they have been told in their madarsas that all parsis in what is now iran have been killed by their forefathers from Arabia.

CPM is the greatest disaster. It's the only indian political party who wants China to prosper. If Mamta is not there, China soon will claim Bengal as part of China. Long live Mamtadi.

PROVEN TATAS
by Rajesh Jha on Aug 27, 2008 06:50 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hasts off to TATAs. It is really pleasant to have words from Tata (here Mr Ratan Tata). They have proved that even in business (which in general considered a bit dirty game), one can become a top player without shedding his vaues & ethics. It all happens with committment, hard work and belief in ones ability & values. He has shown that one should have aggression in mind and humbleness in heart to serve mass. The example is Nano. It was really an aggression when he put the target of Rs 1.0 lac car to his engineers but he never made anybody's miserable for that.
Singoor chapter is one of the blackest dates of India. Ms Mamata should that the interest of farmers is not killed. The farmers must be paid adequately for their land. Other arguments are just foolishness. She argued that those lands are the only source of livelihood to the farmers. Are they not paid for that? Another argument- we should not use fertile lands for this purpose. Agreed, but the plant cannot be put on hiltop which of no use. We need to look at the matter in hollistic way. But, alas, our leaders like Mamta cannot have that sight. God give some senses to our leaders like these who are coming in the way of India's prosperity.
This could have happened with other companies as they would have paid to Mamata for withdrawing from the battle. But, Tatas are not of that sort, so they are facing this problem. May God give strength to Tatas to stand on their values. This will set a new chapter for our corrupt politicia

What has the government done to generate employment. After all Tata's Nano manufacturing unit is going to generate employment People at large do understand this fact but the political leaders paint such issues with different colour. In India Tatas are the one who are real Nation builders.Other Businessmen are opportunists .Take eg. of any Multinationals .They are only showing the path to poverty. How to spend. They deal with all import materials having huge matket & earn more and more profits. To generate employment and bring in know how Tatas are the only one.

Politics of Oppurtunity
by SHUJAT MIRZA on Aug 27, 2008 02:56 AM  Permalink

Request to all readers not go treat the subject as a fight between Ms. Mamata and Mr. Tata. Neither one between good and evil.
The story started with Mr. Tata challenging his automobile engineers and finance managers to build a car in Rs. 1l. In present day India I am at pained to think that Mr. Tata was not finding a place to put up his factory Singur was the only place in the world to put up the plant.
On the other hand Mr. Buddha Deb Bhattacharya took reins of WB in his hand with a legacy of anti Industrilist attitude. It is a common knowledge that during 30 years of CPM rule, the state has stagnated to the least if not degraded. He set forth an agenda diametrically opposite to his predecessors. He invited Industrialists to invest in WB. Did any one hear?
Mr. Tata must be wondering now where did he leave his thinking hat when he decided to put the plant in WB. But the decision was taken.
Here enters Ms. Mamata Banerjee, the pinnacle of oopurtunism. She sides in the morning with congress to make mahajot to dislodge CPM and in the evening parties with BJP to topple congress at centre.
In all this boruhaha, the issue has got diluted.
Only thing to be seen is if provisions of law were adhered to while land was acquired. Battle should have been faught in the court instead of on the street.
personal opinion - This plant will be very good thing for land loosers, for public at large, Bengal, India, Potential buyers, Share holders of Tata and CPM. Will be bad news for Didi.

Sir Ratan Tata
by rajdeep on Aug 27, 2008 12:26 AM  Permalink

honesty is not only the best policy but is actually the only way you would suceed in life and survive in the long run
if there is any one who has proved that and had set up an example in the owner of the tata empire.
HE IS THE ONLY TRUE INSPIRATION FOR PEOPLE OF OUR AGE GROUP FROM WHO WE CAN LEARN SOMETHING.

HE IS ONE OF THOSE FEW BUSINESS MEN WHO WORK WITH PEOPLE AND MAKE A REAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE COUNTRY AND NOT FOR BEING THE RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD

On Responsibility,,
by vikas aditya on Aug 27, 2008 12:01 AM  Permalink

On responsibility: Industry needs to be concerned with stopping the flow of citizens to the urban areas and creating livelihoods in the rural areas for them. They need to understand that they have a responsibility that goes beyond just making their products and producing a good bottom line. They have a responsibility that covers the 60-odd per cent of the population that is not industrialised and that is in the rural community.

That's what the point is..the effort should to do development all around and effort should not be to deriorate the living spaces (cities) as businesses are doing..why not to colocate offices and residential complexes within campuses ? Has been done by so many whether Navratan like BHEL, SAIL and even by Tisco. Why not put all the IT people in one place (by creating one) to work and live? it will remove the pressure from the cities and development will happen in new places and areas. Why do we need 10s of offices in any crowded city of india? thousands of employess from thousands of homes travel in thousands of vehicle cris crossing the city..does that makes sense??

Think about it!

Bengali deserves the fate
by Veenaay Deshpande on Aug 26, 2008 11:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Bengalis themselves don't want any industrial developement in their state. Whoever wanted have left W. Bengal long ago. Take the cases of Gujrat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka, Tamilnad. They wanted industrial growth they are seriously trying for it since last few decades. And what west bengal is doing ? Living on its past cultural glory, opposing the all beneficial nuclear deal. If they wanted progress they wouldn't have voted the communists in power, who have negative mindset at looking at the things. The party itself is the party of old and obsolete leaders.
