Vinod you are mistaken. Peter is talking about a place called Murugan Idli in T. NAgar Chennai and not the Mumbai place. More ever I agree with your view on KP, the chutney and Sambhar (Served Generously) tattes awesome.

In Chennai at this price, Rs. 20 in Pocket you will not get any mouthwatering food except chicken or mutton puffs in Adyar Bakery.
Anyone, visiting chennai please try out this place in T.Nagar(Opp. to Brilliant Tutorial). You get quality food at a highly reasonable rate. But available only during night...

Peter have you gone mad: Ramu Dosa carter road is the worst I ever tasted. I have been there once and that was my final visit there.Even while writing I can have odour od this. If u really like to have a tasty dosa for Rs. 14 try KP (Krishna Prasas) N.S.C. Bose Road, Chennai.
The world's best Bhelpuri & Sevpuri (Beats all Juhu, Chowpatti, etc etc) - Ram & Shyam - outside Rose Manners School at Santacruz (west) - the lane bang opposite Dynasty Restaurant... Try it out

So what country do you stay in Prasad. When I went to India in December 2005 i ate the best bhel puri in Dadar TT. It was only about RS10 per plate. I never ate so delicious dish since then.
Kunj Vihar near Thane railway station in Mumbai. The guy sells really jumbo Vada Pav for meagre Rs 6 (last update on June 2005, Never been to India afterwards.) The guys there are really rude but the Vada Pav that they sell is absolutely brilliant.
hi there is a food joint at bharat nagar(near shakti nagar) for famous bhalla papri. the rate per plate is Rs 20/- but the taste u will not get anywhere else in delhi. go & check & hope u will enjoy a lot.

near kaggis bakary hanumnathnagar where masala puri, sev puri, pani puri is best in banaglore
Vig at Chembur Camp is Bombay's best kept secret. No one has written about it and none of the regulars would like to tell others about it. Vig makes authentic Sindhi food. The Dal Pakwan he makes is out of this world. Crisp large robust Pakwans, not the thin papads that try to masquerade as pakwans. Wonderful mix of chana dal, moong dal and aalo subzi, dash of lime pickle and onion. Bliss for Rs 12.00 The only tandoori kulchas with wonderful mooli filling with yummy chana masala for Rs 12/- and the best pooris fluffy and large with chana for Rs 12.50 beats all the crumy bhaturas in town. He also sells a veg pulao for Rs 15/- which is a meal in itself.
Come evening you get the best paani puri, dahi puri, sev puri and ragda pattice all for Rs 12/- I wonder why people pay upwards of rs 30/- in Bandra for crappy pattice and paani puri.
Vig is on Chembur camp road, take a right after Priyadarshani Circle go to the end, turn right again and then a left at the signals. Street food paradise awaits you about 100 yeards down the road on your right. It is a little before Chembur Golf Club. ENJOY
People in Hyderabad wanting to have Punjabi food at affordable prices cannot afford to miss this place. It's called "Needs". Their punchline is "Home away from home". And sure enough they stand upto what they say. Needs is tucked away in the Uma Nagar area in Begumpet, a 5 minutes walk from the Lifestyle store which is a known Landmark. It's also just yards away from the famous St Francis college for Women. The best offerings are Palak paneer, and Aloo Parathas.. Phulkas are also available for as low as 3 rupees. There is also a Punjabi thali available, in both Veg and Non-Veg style. A Meal for 2 would cost Rs 100. Go there for the parathas,Chicken masala, Egg Bhurjee and the perfect end to your food-"Lassi". It is crowded most of the times. You might have to share your table with others if you are only 2 people. But the food makes up for all that.
