Such ban is good move
by vimlesh on Apr 23, 2006 04:57 AM  Permalink

You come out of the house to do few things which you cannot do at home. Can't you Love/Kiss/express emotions at home? If you say that due to family environment you cant do it at home then you cant do the same in public too. First upgrade your family to 21st century and then think about upgrading your country.
The ban is for couples doing it and not necessary that every couple is married. Looking into the past what has been going on in Delhi I feel this is good move.
Rapist's/Insane people are basically frustrated people in life or people those who like to show their powers, such people get provoked seeing such things and they search for some victim on whom they can do such actvities, victim can be anyone, could be the couple whom they see carrying such activities in public. Its not 21st century/western culture, its more about family's safety. We realise things when someone close to us suffer else we seamlessly argue and call people as old and orthodox. Western culture teaches kids to make love, in school majority of guys and girls lose their virginity, do we indians like our daughter losing it in school?
Atleast there'll be some fear outside the house for the youngsters.

WTF
by Dave on Apr 23, 2006 02:30 AM  Permalink

LOL!

Which "animal" did you see locking lips lately?! And "in public" to boot! Muhuahahaha

Anyway... its the fact that we can express our love with a peck on the cheek and get fined for it that frustrates me! I'm not one for all out french kissing on the street but having cops look for people expressing love for each other so that they can pocket a nice little "fine" is absolutely hilarious. And damning.

if u really love someone kissing is not the only way

to express ur love.i belong to present generation & i feel kissing at public place is totally wrong.it sends

a wrong message to youngsters that it is necessary to kiss someone u luv.if u really feel like kissing u can

do it at home when no one is around or wait till marriage.if a person cant control his urge he is not worth loving.in future youngsters will force girls to kiss by observing people kissing in public places.

kiss or not to kiss!

Stupid way to pile on somebody's emotions!
Aren't adult human beings in this country considered capabl enough to behave themselves when they can elect the government of this Great Country?
Why are they spicing up the issue which is necessarily a personal affair!

To kiss or not to kiss
by Freedom Of Speech on Apr 23, 2006 12:19 AM  Permalink

"The sound of a kiss is much softer than that of a canon - but it's echo lasts a great deal longer."

Kissing is a very Natural Human Tendency for 2 people who are in Love.. It exists now and it existed 100 years ago as well. By kissing in public, we are Not copying the west.. we are doing what we always wanted to do, but with a little more chivalry & openness!!

Kissing should not be fined. yes, but if it crosses the limits of obscenity and an observer may feel awkward, then this type of "snogging" should be stopped.. but by other means than imposing a heafty fine. Severe Warning with Possible Consequences should do the Trick...!!

After all, Love cannot and should not be contained For it is the Most Beautiful Feeling One Can Feel... and Government cannot Control Our Feelings!! GOODLUCK!!

need to draw a line
by Tasin on Apr 23, 2006 12:16 AM  Permalink

i strongly believe that we need to have self restriction. Public places should definitely not be misused for physical intimacy.
Having said that I strongly feel that public places serve a a very good vent out place particularly in big cities where there are big problem of having private space.
And i think kisssing and hugging definitely dont call for a fine. Understood, we are nation of great culture but isnt it true that we are known and admired for our ability to accept others and change with changing times.

I seriously think this is highly ridiculous. The moral police is just trying to highlight themselves.how does a kiss between two people have to do anything with others.where is the moral police when women are molested in public places.they are nothing but hypocrisy.every youth got to protest against this.
