I feel mere kissing between a couple, may it be in a public space, is a very spontaneous act which is quite harmless. People being around at that time is purely incidental.Bringing in morality at this instance is ridiculous leading to the assumption that such a spontaneous expression of love is cheap and crass, which is not so. Just displays the hypocritical nature of the so called "powers that be"
If the issue is of virtue and morality, then a more important issue is "honesty" that the so called self appointed "moral police" should look into... what with corruption being so rampant in every government organisation at every level...or is it that because corruption takes place "behind closed doors" and under the table and not in public places it is overlooked and most times accepted?
I guess Rs.500 should be a good amount to deter people from doing private activities publicly. I many a times find in an embarrasing situation while travelling with family & relatives. I find couples lip-locked even in 1st class compartments on local trains especially on Sundays. I guess people should engage in such activities at home rather than embarassing passer-bys in public places.
Why can't people show their affection when and where they feel like? Surely it is the other person who should feel voyeuristic if they stand and watch. I think the fine is yet another attempt to encourage people to think that sex is a taboo in a country where tha kamasutra was invented! Hypocritical!
Kissing in Pubic is not a part of our culture , Romance is private and should stay that way. Youngsters kissing in public makes it uneasy for families around them in public.
Goood, What the young couples do in public is not there private affair but they r polluting the general public specially kids and teenagers who see them involved in such act. This is a very good and nice initiative taken bu police. police and other law enforcing authorities should implement the law seriously.
well.. its difficult to say with todays new generation .. whether couples should be allowed to display their affection to each other.. At the same time, its not fair to say that don\'t display them at all.. afterall.. some fun in life must be retained! :))
Maybe, if they had a policy, that couples cant kiss for more than.. say 2 minutes..at a time.. then that would be ok.. would\'nt it.. a small peck on the lips should be acceptable.. but a full blown french kiss with the hands roaming about.. can be treated as offensive..
i know the realisation of this, will have couples/ moral police carrying stop watches.. but at least it would give peace of mind to everyone else! :))
This is sheer nonsense.whats wrong in kissing in public?we see that always in our Tv. almost all hollywood movies are having atleast one scenes.Bollywood are not far behind.with a Ban on kiss in public.....this would only excite teenagers to steal kiss.we all know such things attracts more attention when there is a ban.moreover this ban will certainly not increase nor decrease kissing in public.India is India.only a small negligible section of the society in India will indulge in kissing in public. It is not in our culture.....Indians are very uncomfortable in kissing in public.polic are not require.....Our culture will play the role of moral police. I think a Ban will only make it more tempting.....
