Sachin and Dravid immediately... Lakshman is a dead man already.... killing Deccan Chargers... LOL... Kumble can still play a few series.. at least some non-subcontinental teams still get flummoxed by his googlys while playing in spin beds... The other are clueless even in batting friendly pitches..

Do you know we are talking Test Cricket here? Do you know the performances of Sachin, Laxman in the most recent series against Australia?

Please grow up.... Kapil scored a fair amount of runs and took lots of wickets... so he should be placed in current team as India has no allrounders... Right???? Plz grow up... we should learn from pasts but dont stay at past... we should invest and do some good for future.

Why u want others to retire when they will themselves say when they want to. Thats the point.

The point is that Cricket isnt a Bureaucracy where ppl can stay as long as they can... it should be a matter of performance and an onus of building a team that can serve the nation can long... My friend the team can only have 11 players... an if u fill it up with old haggards how the new talents can bloom?
Cricket is mental game & fitness game apart from cricketing talent. if the individual feels he is short of these things , it is better ti retire gracefully. that is what ganguly did . for this no discussion is necessary by the media or by any body. is there not retirement for office people. for any body in the whole word. Let us wish him all the best & for the services he has renderd. he will be remembered for taking our team for word cup final
People should understand Indian cricket may be shining in money but has lost all lustre in performance. After this fab 4 (who have definitely past due their shelf lives) India hasnt come out with any standard player. Viru is an unpredictable enigma... But Yubvi is only for T-20, Gambhir is a lill bit opener. Dhoni is the most overrated player... he is just like Sidhu lion in sub continent but a mouse in overseas. But still unless youngsters get chances they wont mature. So Ganguly has taken the correct decision.... may be an year late. Its time for Dravid, Sachin and Kumble to follow. Lakshman is a wasted piece btw. I know still some crazy fanatics would vouch for Sachin. But still ppl has to understand modern cricket has moved from the time of the Colonial emperor. Its not the game of lazy, unfit Brit-foot-licker... its a game of youth, stamina and performance. Unfortunately Sachin has lost everything... he was just a fodder of Ajantha, Murali or any damn bowlers now. Bradman....ha ha how can one compare to the Real God Of Cricket.... being a great player isnt dictated by SMS.... its evaluated by ages to go and ages to come... Sachin would be remembered as a great player.... but comapred to Sir Don, Sobers, Grace he is far far away... So he should retire happily... with a shattered broken wall Dravid, the outdated Lakshman and may be a truly legend Kumble.

WOW.... another crazy fan comes up... So it means to ctiticize something you have to be best in it... so my friend dont read film reviews or even criticize movies.... because I dont think u r an actor/actress ... ;-) And for God's sake dont even mention Bradman's name.... at that time also people used to play.... may be in a different style... But till date his name is only heard... not his compatriots...so he had something special right? And Sobers played cricket when everyone was already aware of the game... SO dont under mine their feats as they are past... I also tell these fab four are great.... but they are just BIG DRAGS.... they are just dragging themselves too much in pursuit of money and at cost of future of Indian cricket... Instead of these 4 oldies if 4 youngsters would play... the end-result would be the smae.. India would still get defeated... But in next series these young sters would definitely put up a great performance... WQe should invest for future nit just wait and gaze at the Old Past. Good cricketers are not born they are made and groomed... thats the mantra of success in every quarters.... Dis it enter your moronic brain??
there is no need to club these four together.... sachin is the best, greatest and will remain so, no need to put him with other three.... kumble has done great job but he is not all time great in his bowling department.... in the end only the greatest are remembered be it sir don, pele, maradona, michael jordan, michael johnson.... so don't put sachin in this list...

Ya Sachin would be in the list of players... who are too greedy even to understand that they have lost all touches... He is person just living on past... and we really stupid fans are still worshipping him... Check out man... even Sanath jayasurya (whom some morons dont even recognize in the big league) has won more matches for his country....
it is the time to fix the age limit for retirement of cricketers, and cricketer should retire once their age crosses 25 years and BCCI should rehabilate them in some where else

25!!!! R u even aware about the game of cricket!!!! U myt as well have said, announce retirement after 10 matches!!!
When I was a kid and I used to see Kapil play for India I used to think that there cannot be an Indian Cricket team without Kapil but it did not happen like that. Similarly Indian team can thrive without Sachin too. Same is the case with Saurav, Rahul, Anil and VVS. I think they should retire on their own rather than forced to but yes age should not be the only criteria for retirement.
