Match referee against India
by Hebbar on Jun 13, 2006 02:56 PM  Permalink

As long as Captain and Coach are mere mute spectators, these incidents will happen. Infact, India has been the whipped boy from all umpires and referees. BCCI should take up these matters with ICC and ensure that there is no injustice.

If Brian Lara is not punished, then it is a mockery of rules and regulations.

ICC keep it up with your double standard
by venugopal on Jun 13, 2006 02:54 PM  Permalink

ICC, you have the geat tradation of dividing cricket pLAYing counties into brown and non-brown.

who can forget alan hurst, who visited india in 1979-80 under kim hughes as a bowler. he kicked the stumps in banglore when his appeal was turned down. (please see sports star of those weeks)

now the same assie alan hurst is the referee.

CROW IS CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK.

when india visited south africa in 1997 under azar, in one ODI rahul dravid hit alan donald for 6 the reply from alan was unparlimentary f*** Y**.

ICC NO ACTION.

turn to 1999. srinath's raising ball was hit on the helmet of ricky ponting. NDTC footing cleary showed ricky mounting at srinath. in the same match venkatesh prasad celebrated for taking a wicket by pumping his HE WAS FINED FOR THIS ACTION.

shift to south africa sehwag was fined for excess appealing. in the same match polock went scott free for the same action. MR DAVE RICHARD JUSTIFIED THAT IS THE WAY TO APPEAL.

we have not forgotten the incidence of sachin and dennis (Mike dennis)the menis.

read the statement of dave richardson and how he has justified lara snatching the ball from umpire.

WELL DONE ICC. KEEP IT UP.

Lara's behaviour in first test match
by avadhoot on Jun 13, 2006 02:53 PM  Permalink

L love west indians, but since that incident i hate Lara & his team. As senior player he has not supposed to do that.

And another side when Sehvag has appealed a lot & ICC has fined him a 20% from his remunerationthen, by the same time where were ICC when Lara asked to Dhoni to go back to pavelion.......

That was very disgustting...

Yes! West Indies r playing with 12 players
by Kewal on Jun 13, 2006 02:52 PM  Permalink

Yes i totally agree with u.

Dhoni's Controversary: Cricket law says that "BENEFIT OF DOUBT SHOULD ALWAYS GO TO THE BATSMEN". But it was not done and the Law is broken.

The Decision was tuff but still the Doubt should(always) go to the batsmen.

Why no action has been taken on the West Indies Captian for not behaving properly with a UMPIRE, and how the hell can he show the finger to a umpire. He should be suspended for this series. As there is a prestige of the Umpire. And this type of behaviour does not suit a Captian of the the Team.

They should have taken some action on the West Indies Captian.

Anyway, now the decision has been made and nothing can be done by discussing about it. I think v should forget it.

This is a bias of West Indies as India is playing on their homeland and also they do not have hospitality as Indians have.
by Shanto on Jun 13, 2006 02:51 PM  Permalink

It is really absurd that whatever the Westindies players doing are right and endorsed by ICC whereas Indians are punished always. This is big injustice and should not be entertained.

Match referee against India
by Naresh Govil on Jun 13, 2006 02:51 PM  Permalink

I think Match refrees are against players of this subcontinent. They never punish players of Australia, Newzeland, Windies, England but always against the Shrilankans, Indians, & Pakistan. ICC should take action against this and reform the panel having memeber of these countries also.

Disparity
by Manish on Jun 13, 2006 02:50 PM  Permalink

U r exactly right. Refree is in favour of West Indies. I really was shocked to see Lara's reaction. It reminded me of my school days cricket. He was about to cry I guess. He should be really ashamed of this. I guess he was more concerned about his record of 26 runs in one over.... Too selfish....

The first problem was with the 3rd umpire itself. When he couldn't take a descision after seeing many replays, Dhoni should have been given not out. When there is a run-out case, if it is tough to decide favour goes towards batsmen end.... Every one gets frustrated when other end steals the show... it doesnot mean u start reacting however u want..

Match Referee
by S. Ravi Shankar on Jun 13, 2006 02:49 PM  Permalink

Yes, the Match Referee should be fined by ICC for one sided decisions.

Definitely, Lara should have been fined for his behavoir on Dhoni's matter, that too being a Captain of their team

In my opinion, India should stop playing cricket as ICC is getting more revenue from us than any other countries and they have to suffer for this.

This is when we miss Ganguly!
by Suresh on Jun 13, 2006 02:48 PM  Permalink

The spine of Saurav Ganguly is dearly missed. He would have handled the Lara issue in a different way, on the field. Dravid is too soft to handle it.
