Match Referee is biased
by Venkatram on Jun 13, 2006 03:50 PM  Permalink

I agree if Shewag is fined a part of his Match Fee, the same yardstick should have been applied to West Indian Players. Lara action definately was far more serious and should have been punished.
I am at a loss to understand what exactly the Match Refreee meant by diffrent set of circumstances while refering to Collins action.
ICC should realise it is far more important to enforce the rules correctly than framing them

How Dhoni left the ground other than Umpires consent?
by KRPanicker on Jun 13, 2006 03:41 PM  Permalink

It is quite sad to mentioned here and say Mr. Lara done a blunder mistake saying to Our Dhoni to get off the ground. Players themselves or otherwise the advice of other team leaders advice how make affective to witness such lick shameful occurnace.

Dhoni too done mistake hearing the words of Lara. The international forum should come forward and properly warn and penalize Lare for his blunder mistake.

thanks,

K R Panicker

biased attitude of the ICC
by ashley joseph fernandes on Jun 13, 2006 03:40 PM  Permalink

for long now i wanted to voice my opinion on this matter. the ICC's behaviour on this matter is utterly biased and disgraceful. how can you save that Lara didnt show dissent. is dave richard fooling us or himself? the whole world saw Lara snatching the ball from the umpires hand and at the same time wagging his finger and mouthing NO NO? does the ICC takes us to be fools. today if a batsmen nicks a ball you can see it with the help of the tv replays so also any unsporting behaviour. what Lara did was unbecoming of a sports man especially of his calibre. and the behaviour of the ICC in sweeping the matter under the carpet is utterly disgraceful. i wish something could be done about it.

evil refined through ages
by swapnil on Jun 13, 2006 03:39 PM  Permalink

i don't wanna sound too biased but if we take a look at the way the game has shaped up for indians in past decade, we can c that by the game and by the economical standards, we are most benifitted.

OK! i agree that our game levels go down sometimes but the commercial strength of BCCI is a trouble for ICC and india is such a big market that it dictates its term to any business. then there is always old song of racism, transferred through generations of firangs.

it is not that racism has died down, it has changed, mutated into basis of regions rather than skin color.

sometimes BCCI should show their DISSENT and a strong one for boys of our country, this one doesn't corresponds with their performance and yes! lara is no gentleman, he is a grand display of wht happens when fear gets in ur nerves

Match referee against india
by Avnish on Jun 13, 2006 03:37 PM  Permalink

Sir,

I do agree to your opinion, this is not the first time that match referee's are biased. there are several such instances.

I strongly condemns the act of great Brian Lara, if people like him behaved the way he behaved they should be handed over double penalty in order to set the example for others.

How can lara justify that in the interest of the Game Dhoni had to walk off the crease.

he should consider the clear dismissal of Gayle when he edged and caught but the umpires didnot give out, then he should have walked off.

biased icc
by aravind on Jun 13, 2006 03:33 PM  Permalink

i feel that really the match refree had shown clearly that he is on whose side coz when sehwag was fined and dhoni given out where was the icc?of excessive appealing was the case then what abt pedro collins?

and lara?just take the case of ganguly for instance he used to be punished for each and every aggresive perfomance ,

jayawardane galso was punished

is it that a few guys are really against india? or in a broader view against asia?

i also feel bad that dravid did not stand for dhoni or atleast he should hav complained to icc abt lara and plead for sehwags punishment.

Dhoni's Dismissal & ICC 's Decision on Sehwag
by charles on Jun 13, 2006 03:24 PM  Permalink

It was a Very simple Decision tt had to be taken i.e The Benefit of the Doubt goes to the Batsman, and if the Match referee and the umpires don't know the rules of the game then they shouldn't be where they are.

ICC's Decision on Sehwag:-

This very clearly shows ICC's lack of consistancy in implementing the rules. If the ICC personal's are not clear in there mind What's Dissent? What's Excessive Appealing? then no one will be Clear then it's better off not having those rules.

ICC must remember "RULE FOR ONE IS RULE FOR ALL"

Match Refree's
by Steve George on Jun 13, 2006 03:22 PM  Permalink

I wonder why India dont protest to such decisions. Indain cricket is the highest revenue generator in world cricket.we need to value ourselves.

Its so abvious that the fine on Sehwag is malicious.

How can the officials let lara alone after what he did. The whole cricketing world has seen, and any child would say that it was bad.

Its not the first time Indains have faced such decisions. How do we react? It would be furstrating for Indian cricketers to see that others are let alone with big offences and for petty things they are fined.

Lets value our cricketers and value what we are to the world cricket.
