This happens when you make a country of inferior people
by Superman on Feb 26, 2009 12:41 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

In India, when army personnel have any issue with something non-technical like payhikes, they protest in a descent manner, most of the cases in Gandhian way. In Bangladesh/Pakistan and many other countries they go for a coup. In a country where people are uneducated, lack of inspiring leader and absolutely no heritage or history, people react like the way Bangladeshis did. Mostly peasant class who was ruled by the Hindu landowners and landless illiterate people made todays bangladesh. On the other hand, education except the Quranic one has always been on the backstage in a Muslim country. These people prefer to take a dagger instead of pen when they are confronted with an issue. Although, according to the Quran it should be the opposite," The ink of a scholar is holier than the holy blood of a martyr."
A country of inferior people is always troublesome to the rest of the humanity.

The liberation of Pakistan and Bangladesh in 1947 would have far reaching consequences than one can possibly imagine. A recent drive of Wahabi Islamisation in Bangladesh has made them more bloodthirsty.

It is rare to see some decent observations written in the forums. Yours is one of them. Thanks.

Its not the Gandhian way the Indian military personnels are behaving, but as disciplined soldiers. Discipline is that matters in an organisation like army or paramilitary forces which is lacking in Bangladesh and Pakistan...

Your theory that somehow Bangladeshis are "inferior people"-whatever that means reeks of supremely egoistical and fanatical attitude.
To say the least such racist theories are quite dangerous and reflect a lack of wholesome education.
Mutinies have happened in Britain and France, and Germany too - the other self proclaimed "superior people".

The way forward is to shed such silly notions of imaginary superiority (which incidentally lie breed the perception of injustice at the root of such mayhems and coups) and work instead towards removing injustices which exist in our own country.

Cut out the holier than thou attitude guys. We have had our share of mutinies. Remember the Indian Army mutiny after the Golden Temple incident. There is a larger issue at hand out here. It is one that is prevalent in all armies born out of British Empire. Where the Army Officers were a privileged class which consisted of Lords and Earls and the common jawan was nothing more than a peasant who was more of use as cannon fodder to be sent to die for sake of achieving dubious battle objectives. Their living conditions were and still are extremely poor. It shows a complete disconnect between the officers and jawans. It is something that can happen over here too if we are not careful.

It was not a mutiny by the 'army' it was a revolt by the sikh regiment, and understandably enough as the golden temple is thier holiest shrine.

The mutiny by the Sikh soldiers in the Indian Army was not a result of the Operation Blue Star as such, but a result of the army's failure to explain the objectives of the operation to the Sikh soldiers, who interpreted it as an attack on their religion rather than on the terrorists...
