You may not have heard about Raja Rammohan Rai who's efforts resulted in abolishing Sati (first half of 19th century). You may not even heard about Vidyasagar whose effort made Widow marriage legal (middle part of 19th century). Vidyasagar was also staunchly against casteism and would welcome any so called 'untouchable' in his fold. Both these gentlemen came much before Periyar was there and had to withstand opposition of many people. Incidentally both of them were Brahmins. There have been many others who worked towards upliftment of women and weaker sections of the society. But they didn't spread hate towards othere sections of the society (read upper caste) and other part (read anything apart from south India) of the country. 60 years after independence, instead of trying to forget castes we are ressurecting them and people like Periyar are responsible for it. As per his view on his mother's death, it was not objectivity but meanness. He didn't even had the decency to atleast shutup when somebody is dead (a basic phylosophy practiced in all cultures in the world is "show the dead respect"). By his kind of objectivity and materialism people would also turn canibal when a famine sets upon. As people would require food which a human body can provide.

No body told any body to get supressed... just think.... Alll these supressed ppl were happy to be supressed... Who told them to be a slave..Our country became a slave to British becos of our fellow Indians...similarly these became slaves becos of their fellow caste ppl... These stories told so that they can enjoy the benifits now....Without doing any anything they want seats in IIM and IIT based on their supression some 50 yrs back.. As u can see even now they re happy to be supressed, they very happy to be a OBC/SC/ST...afterall they re enjoying a benifits of being the same.
My overall pt, they re happy being a backward class/supressed class....

Perfect and they put blame on Brahimns andother supposedly FCs, to increase their quota of benefits time to time.

Yes Yes. u r right. Only this guy "periyar" is great. Gandhiji, Nehru, Patel, Rajaji and every other person lived during that time is idiot. why? because some useless people who don't know anything but to live like parasites(on reservations) think in that way. I forgot , Ambedkar is God and Jagjeevan Ram is a wonderful human being. U have shown lot of wisdom, tolerance and patience and ur understanding on the indian history and our people. I congratulate you. i wish if i were u. i am a foolish brahman.
