Sir,I have seen Periyar and I have read about Periyar.He was not against Brahminism but he was very much against Brahmins, an innocent community and not a rebelion community. I have seen thru my own naked eyes, at that I was 11 yrs old,pulling the sacred thread of Brahmins(when they were waiting for clients wearing only towels to cover their upper parts)and cutting the "Kudimi".i have seen even Asphalt poured on Brahmins in Triplicane.All these have been done against Brahmins since they are innocent and does not have the muscle power.I can also blame Brahmins since they are not united.But Periyar didnt have the guts to play these tricks against any other Religion like Muslims, Christians , Sikhs, etc. For every religion there are different sub-caste and their own belief. No body has right to question this.He is very particular against Hindus and Hindu Gods. Hindu Gods were adorned with chappals and taken out in Procession in Salem and Coimbatore. It was published in Thuglak then. Why he has not extended the same to other Religions? If he has extended he would not have been there alive for so long. The writer (IAS officer )does not know all these negetive things done by Periyar.
