People who are not ready to accept Periyar as a Social reformer or leader and question what social reform he has brought to Tamil Nadu can please post why is that all the Sankaracharis or Saibabas are given undue importance and treated like Gods despite their alleged criminal activities. Can any one tell what social reforms they did? The reason is clear. Sankaracharis are Brahmins and Periyar is not.

Sai Baba (neither the current one, nor the previous one)is not a brahmin, so your theory is unscientific....I agree with your idea that any one who is a criminal should be shunned, provided that it is proven in a court of law

though periyar is a pervert because of the failures in his family life, he had strong conviction. he cut three hundred odd good yielding cocunut trees to follow prohibition as stated by mahatma gandhi. using his name and his assets worth of crores, the people in the movement and their families are enjoying now,by creating a trust. it is hard to digest, in the colleges run in the name of periyar, the appointments are given to only particular community even today. this is a shame. it is stated in the article about the number of posts occupied by Brahmins earlier. there is a contrast truth. god fearing brahmins sticking to rules never enjoyed the government tax payer money and looted. but when all the other people occupied the seats, they started looting and without payment of bribe, there is no other channel available to move files in govt. offices. is it not true.
