Hindu Chavunism
by Natures on Apr 30, 2007 11:38 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Even though i dont like his views against Hinduism. He was a true genious in opposing Hindi imposotion in Tamil Nadu.

Otherwise it would have created Hindi Chauvunism. Already it is there in many places. People from Hindi heartland assume that Hindi is the only language, so everone should speak in Hindi only.

Even a typical educated Northis give priority to Hindi not English.

Hindi already killed Marathi,Assame, kannada culture. In the years to come the surving language in India will be Hindi and other languages which is againt Hindi.

One point they often forget is Hindi is an offshoot of Afghans,Arabs marriage with Sanskrit.

SO English should be our national language(Atleast it promises job in MNC) and we should give priority to Reginal Languages.

Hindi emerged out of khadi boli not arabic mixed with sanskrit- Khadi boli emerged out of brij, awadhi, persian and sanskrit and yes no one is forcing tamils to speak hindi, Tamil is one of the official languages of India alongside Hindi, When I am writing this I am writing this in English, so the fact is I am bilingual as you might be, in fact I can speak Hindi,English and Bhojpuri and not have prejudice against any other language, in the south they do have prejudice against Hindi, but the northis as you call them don't have prejudice against you, if something happens it is in reaction to what all you say in the south about people from the Hindi speaking areas, It seems as though you want the Hindi speaking people to speak your language, whether it be Tamil or whether it be the language of chauvinism but in either cases I want to assure you we are not like you, we will speak what we prefer to speak and you can speak whatever you like, no one tells you don't speak in Tamil so stop LTTE Politics in India, you are from Tamil Nadu not Tamil Ealam to talk all this nonsense and Hindi speaking people are not Sinhalese whom you are talking against. Finally

Come to your Senses Prejudiced Fellow

You are mistaken, in the north people are very much prejudiced against non-hindi people, in fact they resort to jokes on those peoples. Even people
from Bihar are not spared and are made the butt of jokes for their style of speaking hindi. So, maybe its wake up time for you, because you should be aware of the true colors of the so called non - prejudiced folk.

people all over like their own type first. i lived in bengal for 30 years. since i can speak very good bengali also, on two or three occassions, some bengalis told me that non-bengalis are not good. a bengali friend even told me that benglis residing outside bengal are not good. so this feeling is not because of hindi language. it is all over the world. once in uk, someone from wales told me that they are the best in uk.

Being proud is different from being prejudiced, making jokes out of communities, ensuring a stereotyped image of non-hindi speakers as losers in Bollywood etc. has not gone down well. No wonder Hindi has failed as a national language. English day by day is soaring in popularity, take for this discussion board, who wants to waste their time typing in Hindi?:)

English has indeed taken over as the national link
language, wherever you go from Kashmir, Kanyakumari, Gujarat, Assam, it is english that works not any other language.

u do not like his views on hinduism, but one thing u like is his anti hindi views!
what is the fault of hindi, if it is understood by many in north, weat and east of the country? so there is no harm in south indians learning hindi. gandhi, netaji, rajaji, all from non hindi speaking states, supported hindi as the national language, because it is understood by the majority.

now we have english medium schools all over the country, who teach in english since kg. is it good? nowhere else in the world a child learns in a language other than mother tongue. english as a compulsory subject, subject should be tought from standard 4th. otherwise as per all leading educationists, teaching a child in a language other than mother tongue is a crime. the crime is more if the language does not have anything common with the mother tongue. english medium schools should be banned after amking constitutional changes. otherwise all native languages are going to vanish, because of overwhelming importance given to english in all our works and this confrontationist attitude amongst ourselves.

since devangri script, which is used for hindi, marathi, konkani, nepali etc., is so similar to gujrati and bengali (in bengali, lines are straight, bengali script is used for assamese also) and have similarity. hence all indian languages, except south indian once, should have a common script. tamil, kannad, telugu (kannad and telugu already have same script) and malayalam should have same script. tamil script has less number of consonants, which must be having pronounciation problems. secondly, lot of words are similar in our languages (except probably tamil). we must take words from different indian languages. with two scripts and common vocabularies we may be able to save our phonetic scripts (which are much superior to roman) and languages from the onslaught of english and roman.

china has been developing much faster than india, though they do not have any knowledge of english. they have started learning english only for foreign trade.

Nobody is blaming Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic, french. The problem is with the attitude anyway even in the Hindi heartland, people are increasingly using Hinglish (pure Hindi is not really popular beyond the banks of Varanasi). But, Hindi has failed as a national language and
English has clearly taken over. Not only this people in metros are taking to foreign language courses in a big way for good fortunes. After all who is going to become a millionaire by learning Sanskrit?
