He seems to be highly repentant. So he should marry the maid and ask request her to withdraw the case. So many film stars have 2 wives or more e.g. Dharmender etc. With this everyone will be happy and no need for court to add one more case and give dates for next 10 years.

Does the maid want to marry him? I think it is preposterous to assume that raping a person .. and then offering to marry them makes things alright.

He is rich. Anyone can buy law in INDIA. Since he is a rich man law is not applicable for him. The court will give dates for 100 years. The best solution is shiney should marry her else he should be sentenced to 10 years of jail. Otherwise there will be no faith on judiciary system.
