Amongst good news for the small investor, Bank and Post Office interest was subject to TDS over Rs 5,000. This limit has been doubled to Rs 10,000

Isnt TDS just about when you are paying your Tax? If there is no TDS then you would have paid at the end of the year while filing your taxes. So it really does not matter when, you end up paying today or tomorrow. I cannot understand how its useful. Better its TDS rather than get squeezed towards the year end.

My dad gets interest from bank its above 5000 so have to pay TDS and Total income is less than 1Lakhs,no its increase to 10000 so will not pay TDS and total income will be less than 1 Lakhs so will not pay TDS now .thats why thanks.
