The author, inspite of being a IAS Officer seems to have not done his homework well. Or probably pretending of being unaware of certain facts. The Dravidian movement had only one objective - crush Brahmins. If they are not against Brahmins let the author answer respond to: (1) How is that when a dalit gets illtreated in the villages by non-brahmins those who are the pillars of Dravidian movement don't raise any issue? (2) How is that when great men leaders like UV Swaminatha Iyer, who was responsible to collect Tamil literature imprinted on leaves (literature belonging to the age before invention of paper & printing)or Subramania Bharathi is never accepted as contributors to the society. (Few years ago when the Central Govt. decided to rechristen the station Maniyachi as Vanchi Maniyachi after the great freedom fighter who shot dead a British Officer and shot himself at thei station hue and cry was made by Dravidian Party? This clearly proves that Periyar and his followers consider this community more venoumos as snakes, which some of Periyar's follwers have expressed openly (when Periyar was allive). It is sad that the author wants to hide the truth.
