As accecpted by Rajasekharan himself, Rajaji was against Brahminism as well like Periyar. But Rajaji never spoke many rubbish as spoken by Periyar.
Periyar's view of Hinduism was narrow. Yes, I agree many bad things did take place in many parts India, specially in Kerala/Tamilnadu (no regionalism please!). But Periyar did cross lines one many a times.
There are examples like Sri Chaitanya Dev who did uplift socalled "Harijans" without uttering nuisences like Periyar.
Anyway, today DMK and AIADMK both became partner of BJP. DMK shared power with BJP for 6 long years.
A new era is coming to Tamil Nadu. And I hope people will get the larger message of Periyar, not soundbites.
Yes, I respect Periyar. But there were better methods, polemic than him to address the issue.
