It is interesting to note that Periyar has such an influence in Tamil Nadue. But the tragedy is going by what is happneing in Tamil Nadu today his life and mission appears to be a failure. Tamil Nadu today is what he was against. We see a Tamil Nadu with cast as the only factor. Even the Dravida parties also working on caste lines. The only thing which seem to have survived is anti-Braminism.
His philosophy was born of hate and bred hate.
But we can not forget that he made history and gave a new direction to Tamil politics.
