Periar and Brahmins
by r narayana swamy on Apr 30, 2007 12:32 PM

No use complaining that Brahmins were in large numbers in the Civil Service, in Medical Legal and other professions. This happened because Brahmins took to Western Education before others, and not because they suppressed other communities. The white employer selected the qualified people. Then used the situation to divide the people. It is foolish to call oneself backward instead of working hard. Hurting poor Brahmin priests and abusing them will not remove the self-styled backwardness. There is merit in all communities, perhaps not the willingness to work hard.
