Before commenting on this article and other's comment let me introduce myself as a foreign trained Phd in Computer science (and hence I did not avail of any reservation!) from a backward class. In the places where I studied, I have seen several forward castes people failing in exames. Recently I interviewed a candidated from the elite IIT (his GATE score was 100%) and he had absolutely 0% basics in computer science. He claims Processes (of Operating system) share address space while Threads don't. This is equivalent to saying 1 2 = 4. People who studied computer science know how foolish this answer is. He is a MTech graduate by the way. Yet another MS student at the university (where I was the Teaching Assistant for a class) was caught copying. He also belong to Forward Caste. I can give 100's of examples like this. I know of several FC computer science graduates who can't write a single line of C program, yet claim to work for top-notch software companies. Most of the FC students get job/grades through group work and not through individual work. Most imporatanlty, most of the FC students indulge in mugging and some short cut trick to get grades and jobs.
If I can tolerate these kinds of candidates, others should tolerate some genuine candidates coming through reservation. Otherwise, FC's will be soon subject to reverse discrimination. Atleast, that is what I will do in my work place with the kinds of candidates I mentioned above!
