Janardan Swami and Chitraguda.
by Ahi Sen on Apr 17, 2009 05:01 AM

Many years back, when I was working at Bhubaneswar a man from a remote are of Ganjam District used to talk about the backwardness of his native place where poor people did not know what rice or wheat was. He became MLA as an independent candidate. After few years I had a chance meeting with his on the way from Railway station to Assembly House. I asked him whether he could make any difference in the living condition of those poor people of his consttuency or not. He avoided to give direct reply to my question. I again asked him that I have not seen any single report in the news papers mentioning his name and whether he was raising the issues of his constituency or not. Ultimately he replied that he was maintaining total silence in the house to gain confidence of the ruling party and once that is earned he would speak on the problems of his constituency. I hope Janardan Swamy will not become another example of my friend in Orissa.
