Re: politics

Unfortunately the two major factors to come into power today in India are :
a) Secularism or psuedo-secularism
b) Regional Parties.
On Psuedo-secularsim Congress scores over BJP and is always acceptable to all parties eyeing the muslim vote. The most fascinating thing about Congress and Left parties is that Congress is the main opponent to Left in the states WB & Kerala who are the only states held by Left. Inspite of the above, they support each other at the centre in the name of secularism.
We then have the regional parties who take their pound of flesh for supporting any party Congress or BJP at the centre weakening the central Govt. As long as the above factors keep influencing the elections, we cannot have a strong Govt.
