Fans may claim Messi as the GOAT. Yes, he is one of the greatest football players of all time. However, till the time he wins a major championship for his country, these awards seem hollow. Scoring goals after goals for his club and consistently failing to deliver a major championship for Argentina on the world stage, that is what his career is becoming. Even CR7 has stolen a march over him by winning the Euro for Portugal. If Messi has to truly become the GOAT, he has to win something for Portugal. Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Beckenbauer, these legends have all won World Cups for their respective countries. I don't care if Messi fans abuse me. I am sure that if you ask Messi what his biggest regret is, he will say the same thing.

There was no comparison to messi of the winner Van Dijk comparing stats and game involvements in previous year which psychologically played a huge role in messi and Barca playing on pitch.
