Maradona’s antics in the present football World Cup is most disgusting. Though he is a footballing legend, his behaviour is the worst amongst the legends of football. The other day he was seen smoking in a no-smoking area. Does he think he is bigger than the game? Why doesn’t he learn from the other legends attending the World Cup?

How Countries Treat Their Sportstars ?
by rishi on Jun 27, 2018 11:18 AM  | Hide replies

.....I wish our sportstars get the same kind of attention and respect all through their lives.....maradona played in 1978 WC and since then has been a darling of argentina purely for his game on the field despite some ups and downs. Why couldn't we treat our international winners with such care and concern to keep the passions alive in the world of sports ? The Government of the day which is moving in the right direction in over-all Governance, must add to its priorities a nationwide campaign to spread awareness among the people , the corporates and the local and state governments on such issues that 'll help the society in investing its energies more passionately on the excitement and rewards of dedication to sports and games for everyone....the participants and the spectators and the fans at large across the Nation. Col Rathore is the perfect man to take up the challenge as he is bound to get a lot of response from all over the Nation as he is an integral part of the dynamic Team-Modi which is steering the Nation to higher levels on all fronts.

P. Gopichand comes to my mind.....he is and will always be the greatest inspiration to badminton players to bring out their best at international standards....his presence by the courts on international tournaments when sainas and sindhus battle against international top-rated players makes such an 'inspirational' spectacle to watch as it builds the confidence of our players on the court every second that they need to keep their determination and grit strong to win every next point. Like wise there are many talented veterans in other fields of sports in our Nation who can and are definitely willing to be brought forth in the forefront to engage themselves more actively with the current generation of sportspersons in each of their disciplines....someone has to make their effort affordable and worthwhile.....and that is where a need for a nationwide awareness campaign on this front. The results in terms of international wins will be astounding for a billion-plus Nation is not short of talent....we need to know how to convert it into wins !
