it reminds of Maradona's Argentina struggling in the Group stage in ITALIA '90 where they were in similar position with a win in last match, securing 3rd place in their group and then advancing to the second round on the basis of best 3rd placed team. Afterwards there was no looking back for them, defeating Brazil, Yugoslavia and Italy. Reached the Final and unluckily lost to 85th minute penalty from Brehme of West Germany. Hope this time for Messi, it proves to be lucky.

This Argentine team is suffering out of physical fitness as well as mentally, it seems. Though they won yesterday against Nigeria, wont be able to advance much unless there is dramatic change. This side will appear more & more blank as the tournament will progress. Some key players are above 30 & that's too much at this level of game. Moreover Argentina could not produce players like Carlos Tavez or Juan Rechlme in last 4/5 years. All the best for Messi & his side.

You said it. Surprisingly they are lack quality in almost all 4 depts... attack, midfield, defence and golkey. Higuain is a spent force, dont know how he is getting into starting 11 ahead of Aguero or Dybala. Messi alone cant create opportunities and then go and score them. They need a powerful finisher..someone like Tevez. And in midfield they lack the quality playmaking of Rechlme or Sorin. But heart always beats for them !!!
