Lack of suitable facilities- reason behind Birmingham's decision?
by JAAGRUK INSAAN on Apr 18, 2018 04:43 PM

It is totally shocking to know that Birmingham state could be so weak in their infrastructure .

If we take all their wealth in account, it is a small expenditure for them to establish the facility in next 2-3 years & let the event take place.

Otherwise they should declare that they are incapable to host the game, since they are afraid of the expenses or incapable to establish the facility in earliest possible time.

If we take the history in account, for lot of Olympic preparations etc., even large stadiums were built in 2-3 years time.

Making arrangement for Shooting endeavor should not be that difficult for the country, whose soldiers were expert in shooting down the poor people of small countries which they conquered thru Gun power only.

What a PARADOX ??

Basic question is that How such a country/state is allowed to host the games, when they do not have basic facilities for an important event??

What was the criteria for favoritism to Birmingham ??

Why the other countries are taken for granted in deciding the venue of CWG??

Are the Britishers still feeling / dominating like they did in Pre-independence era??

Do they take the CWG as their own prerogative ??

They must answer & better accept their incapability to establish the basic facility , inspite of having enough funds .

boycott ? fro what ?
by vikas garg on Apr 18, 2018 02:02 PM

if shooting is so important, why is it kept as an optional sport? India should have fought earlier to make it compulsory.

When archery and tennis were omitted for Glasgow 2014, India should have protested then also but India did not show any heat. So, they will not able save shooting also!!

The organizers will look at the facilities available and logistics for any game. We cant interfere and force them to organize any particular game. Its a internal matter of that country. So, India has to participate and cannot boycott.

That is a very silly comment of yours. Earlier Tennis and Archery were also dropped at Glasgow 2014. I cannot believe that British won't have facilities of shooting because they hosted London Olympics in 2012 that included hordes of events. Organizing event of a sporting event of such scale cannot be internal matter of host country. The events are selected as per participation of maximum number of countries. Example are sepak takraw and kabaddi of Asian Games which are organized at every Asian games irrespective of internal situation of host country, I believe vast majority of commonwealth countries may have lost interest in shooting!!

Commen wealth games is an event of slave countries of yesteryears british empire. Now we should not even participate in this as this is a symbol of slavery. Briton is now no more a super power and we are a self respected democratic counrty. For our self respect we should not even consider Commen wealth group as such.

Your thoughts are too ideal to be applied!! the problem is players would not want to throw away this 'easy' chance to win a famous international medal!!!
